ASA Tournament 3rd Annual Mason Fall Classic - Oct. 8th & 9th

The Mason Softball Boosters will host the Third Annual Mason Fall Classic on Sunday 10/9/11.

Age groups: Saturday (10/8) - 10U & 12U

Due to lack of interest we will not be having a 10U and 12U age bracket this year. Coaches will be notified via e-mail this afternoon.


Age groups: Sunday (10/9) - 14U & a combined 16U/18U (High School) division

Cost - $225.00/team (make checks payable to: ?Mason Softball Boosters?)

Location: Mason High School Complex and Corwin Nixon Park

- 3 Game Minimum (weather permitting), format will be determined by number of teams entering.
- ASA-Sanctioned Event - Non-Qualifier

o Sanctioning will be available at check-in​

- Maximum 6 teams/age group
- Pitching distance for 14U is 40 feet. HS division is 43 feet
- Metal spikes are allowed for HS division
- Two umpires per game for all games

- Standard ASA Rules will be used for all games with exceptions noted below.

o Continuous batting line-up if desired​

o Free defensive substitution​

- Must be able to show proof of insurance at check in
- Awards will be given to 1st and 2nd places in each age group
- Game MVP awards during pool play
- Tournament shirts/Full concessions

Last year we played the tournament with 8 teams in one age group (16U). Not enough 14s or 12s. The first year we played the tournament with 12 teams in two age groups. We are hoping to get 24 teams, but we'll see how it goes.

We will post the teams when we get some signed up. It will take a week or two. We will post a weekly update as we get closer. We look forward to hosting the tournament.

Ideally we would like to have 4 per age group at a minimum, but we will hold the age group with a minimum of 3 teams.

As Doug mentioned, we will post teams both on OFC (either Mike or I will update Post 1 on this thread) and at www.cometsoftball.net

New updates added to post #1. Two additional teams inquiring about the 16U/18U division - so it looks like Sunday will be a full go for both 14U and 16U/18U. We are continuing to look for younger teams for Saturday through this weekend and will make a call by Sunday if those divisions will be able to be played.

Coaches that have registered - we have received your information and will be sending out an e-mail to confirm this weekend.

Added Cincy Static 16U to the 10/9 tournament.

Due to lack of interest we have decided to cancel the Saturday younger ages (10U/12U) and will have the Sunday tournament only this year. Coaches of the two teams affected will be notified today.

Cincy Storm 14U have been added to the 14U bracket on Sunday.

One more spot open in each bracket on Sunday. If we receive those committments prior to Sept. 30th, we will publish the schedules early.
