Wave over Doom 95 3-2 @ 14u. 14 innings of great softball with Wave this weekend. They have a great bunch of girls, hopefully their 2nd baseman is ok and makes a quick recovery. The Wave coaches are pretty cool also. Doom also had another great game with EMR in the semifinal 1-0 8th inning ITB. The Doom and EMR have played 15 innings of great softball the last two weekends. Great pitching by the Wave and EMR the last two days. Congrats to all.

Doug,

We had a great time playing you guys this weekend. Your right 14 inning (over two games) of some excellent softball by both teams. This was our first time back on the field since last Fall and we only got one practice in last week but we got our act together as the weekend went on. Playing high quality teams like yours will help sharpen the focus right away.

It was a big plus for us to have all three of our pitchers throw complete games today.

Our 2nd baseman KP did suffer a severly sprained ankle and it looks like she might miss at least two weeks and as many as four. She is a very dynamic offensive player and will be difficult to replace during that time. We almost lost our pitcher early on in that last game as well as she really twisted her knee on the mound. She's a tough one and gutted it out but after the game it was real stiff.

I think that those two pitchers (both names Emily) will be battling eachother for years to come. They are both high quality kids. I want to give a big shout out to our Emily (Froment) on being named 1st Team All State as a Freshman this year. She won 20 games (13 by shutout) and took her team to the Regional semi's. Not many freshman recieve that honor.

Good luck next week at SluggerFest and we are heading up to Toledo. Can't wait to hook up at GAPSS in that first pool game.

Thanks to the ofc organization for the outstanding performance this past weekend the tournament was ran so smoothly game times were right on time the umpires were very consistant and actually preety darn good. We (HH ROADWARRIORS) were the runner-ups in the B division we were beaten by a well deserving MIAMI VALLEY VIPERS TEAM that were very classy and well coached by john and his staff. I thought the b division was very even and could of went either way in alot of games. there was alot of other teams that really stood out,the other vipers team (gannon) is very solid this year just like in the past, cincy ice look real good, cincy fury is a nice club cincy magic looks good also the bustos teams will rebound once there healthy.CONGRATS TO THE VIPERS AND THANKS TO THE OFC FOR A FUN OPENING WEEKEND.

Buckeyes,

Thanks so much for the nice plug! :) You have a very tough team, and that pitcher was pretty hard to hit. I think the pink unis threw us off, and lulled us into thinking you'd have a softer team. haha! Man you guys can hit. We were fairly fulfilled by our 2-2 overall record at Heatin', but dissatisfied with how we finished at the end. But being a first-year 16U team with 4 players still 14U eligible, it's our hope that as young as we are, we have lots of time to blossom into a more complete team like yours. Thanks again, and thanks for giving us such a worthy opponent Sunday! :D

cincy fury is a nice club

Thanks for the nice compliment about the Cincy Ice.
Your team- the HH Roadwarriors are very impressive. We watched a few of your games
in between our games.
Good luck with upcoming tournaments.

Great competition from every team we played as well....what a super group of teams...good sportsmanship and none quit until the last out! On any given Sunday any one of these teams could be playing in the final four.....what a well ran tourney and don't know about others but we had zero umpire issues........what a pleasant change!
Kudos to the OFC Heat for a great time!

Thanks to all the well-wishers that have asked about KP. She is following doctors orders to a "t" because she wants to be back ASAP! Experience has shown me that she can do anything she sets her mind to.
I may be a little partial here, but her defense rivals her offense. I have seen very few second basemen that can play that position as well as she does. She can take away opponents' hits better than most - despite being left handed. We still saw her field and throw out an extremely fast SEC recruit last summer in the WFC World Series. Many say she can't play infield at the next level, but I beg to differ. She amazed many playing shortstop this spring on her high school team. Her training from the Wave has prepared her well and I venture that she might play infield somewhere at the next level. If not, she is athletic enough to make that adjustment when she gets there! Just some thoughts from a proud mom!

Cannot discount her defense at all. She does some things that surprise me every weekend. Thats what hard work will get you.

Get her well soon. :)
