I knew that one was coming!
Yep , when basically a lil league all star team sends a kid to LSU and a kid to Washington you are going to hear about it ... LOL ( and there is just something about saying " Wild Thangs " that makes me smile )

Another couple of teams that were pretty successful:

Wave Fastpitch - Greenville
Ohio Sapphires - Alliance/Hudson area

It might be interesting to start a thread for the inverse. Who are the orgs that have been around the longest?

Buckeye Heat & Stingrays has to be on the list.

Stingrays have been around forever. Buckeye Heat started in 1998 as Worthington Heat and changed names about in 2001 or so. Classics have also been around since late 90s, I believe. Heart of Ohio has been around probably since sometime in early to mid 90s, perhaps. Lasers have been around since early 90s, I think.

Another one I always saw around but not much anymore... with ESO / Elyria?, seems I only see one tryout post, thought they had multiple age groups for some time.

I know they had a 16 this year and pretty sure a 14. Some good talent there

I believe he was an assistant at Northern KY under Coach Stewart. Can't remember his last name though. I know "The Bear May" would know. ;)

That's Chipp Gregg. Chipp is still around coaching a team and also gives lessons.

Ok, not a team or organization, But does anyone remember the web site Ohio Fastpitch Gold? I have a long list of Fastpitch site that have came and gone. It was almost a copy of Ohio Fastpitch Connection, except in name.

I could go back and look at the team names from the old 97 - 99 Forum. But nothing was more funnier and worth its weight in Gold for pure entertainment. (Any Cincinnati team or person posting anything on the forum) 100% Gold

I remember Ohio Fastpitch Gold! What was that guy's name? I knew him and he started a 12-U team that was actually pretty good. Man I wish I could think of his name. He lived in the north Columbus area.

Was it the Cincy Storm. Run by a guy named Cliff. Forget his last name.
Cliff Killian--Cincy Storm---he used to do a lot of posts on the old OFC---was very knowledgeable about ASA rules and by-laws. There was also Cincy Fury --another very good team.

Holly Hills was one I was thinking but couldn't remember the name. Had forgotten the Ohio Passion. They used to come to GFOD and play indoors. Had a husband and wife who coached...can't remember their names. Ohio Naturals had a pretty good run for awhile.

Thomas ran the CO Lady Rebels...but the Marion Rebels had a few good teams in the early '00's

I told Cliff's last name on page 1......I had to go back and make sure my post was there, since people were still figuring out his name....lol
Chip Gregg coached a 16U NKy Bandits team this past season........

Grand Slam still around, I believe Jerry Goodpasture headed that up?

The Stingrays have been around since 1984 - Both the late Bill Fish and Norm Chambers headed it up back then.
