Daddys got some for you here are some things in no particular order. Be ready to accecpt the fact that every parent on the team will believe their kid is the greatest. Make sure that the person handeling the money on the team doesnt play cards and go to the track three times a week. Remember to be aware of the discruntle coaches kid and the assistant coach that will hit sharp ground balls at your kid durring warm ups and practices to make your kid look bad and his look good. And probably the most important thing leave your emotions in the car. Competitive sports are not for people with thin skin your not allways going to be happy with decisions and if you let those soft feelings get in the way it leads for a long summer.

Now some things for you to be aware of as a parent first if your kid gets good and wants top shelf equipment dont be a cheap bastard and not get it for her. Second and this hold mor with the younger kid tha the older kid be sure to verbally abuse her on the car ride home for having a bad game and having a bad practice. Bottom line if you dont break her down to tears atleast five times a month your not doing your job as a parent and motivator!

THIS IS A CLASSIC DADDY DICE MOMENT ONLY A FEW WILL REMEMBER. THIS WAS WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE THE FIRST TIME DADDY WAS ASKED TO PAY FOUR BUCKS TO GET INTO A TOURNAMENT.

Don't let this guy fool you!! He doesn't wait for the ride home to berate his kid. He does from the stands! :lmao:

I wish I was kidding.

When subbing for other teams you have to be careful if they are playing in any qualifiers. You could become ineligible for your own team if they submit a roster with dd's name. You can play in multiple sanctions but not with multiple teams. Meaning that if you sub for a team that qualifies for an NSA event you would have to get a release from that team to rejoin your own. That can only be done once in a season.
Other sanctions have similar rules. Beware.

Look for a team you can grow with and that has good retention of players.Otherwise you will be looking for a new team next year.

ringer, nice jab...I should have expected nothing but the best one-liners from you...

being a statman does have its advantages (insert suspicious eyes here)...but, the best type of hitting advice I've found is from girls who are in college taking their time out to help these girls hit. Also, get a tee and a screen for the garage/basement. Don't wait on games to improve your batting, it all comes with practice and hitting off that bad-boy. Other than that, take parents with a grain of salt. You'll meet lots of grumblers and some good ones along the way. Eventually you'll figure out whose BS to stay away from. The girls arent the problem most of the time.
