Alex Slates passed away - Please pray for her family

Alex was killed Tuesday when her car slid into the path of a Republic Waste Service truck on Richville Drive in Perry Twp.

Alex Slates, 22, a Walsh University psychology major. Alex was named to the dean?s list at Walsh University for three straight years. Alex is the daughter of Randy and Sue Slates and has two sisters. Alex graduated near the top of her class in 2007 from Perry High School in Massillon, OH, where she also played softball.

Alex was a key member (pitcher) who played for the Wolfpack when she was 13 or 14 years old. Her Dad Randy and Fred Mertes were the coaches. The last year she played for the Wolfpack, She helped them win the 2002 or 2003 NSA "B" World Series near Chicago, IL. I know her teammates and friends will truely miss her...

Please keep Alex's family in your thoughts and prayers during this unexpected loss. My family sends our condolences and will keep you in our prayers.
