I know it's been a while since I posted in here, but some of the old-timers might remember me from the weekly podcast Ricky and I used to do (we also broadcast a few games!), but probably more of you remember me as the "wristband guy". After I retired from coaching 9 years ago, I started doing wristband systems for coaches. Over the years, I was able to improve the product and I've sold well over 500 systems and nearly 9,000 wristbands, mostly to travel teams, but also a lot of school teams and maybe about 20 systems to some smaller college teams. Starting in 2015, I started donating proceeds from every sale to Stay in Softball and with the next check I send them, I am proud to say it should increase the total to over $700. :)

Anyhow, I just wanted to update everyone on where I'm at with doing systems. I still plan to continue to do systems for coaches, which I will email out to them usually within a couple of days. However, I am no longer going to carry and mail out the wristbands themselves, or the paper copy of the signs. My systems are designed to fit into Sports Unlimited wristbands (though also fit into most others), and I recommend their 3 window product. They carry both youth and adult, but I tell coaches that probably 80% of even high school aged players like the fit and feel of the youth wristbands. Like most everything else these days, wristbands are more expensive than they used to be. The good news is that if you order a team's worth, shipping should be free and you can usually get volume discounts, and since I don't have to print and priority mail out the systems, I can actually sell them cheaper than previously. I do 3 kinds of systems ... hitting and baserunning, pitch-calling, and defensive plays. Each of these systems come with 3 different sets of signs that are shaded different colors, and coaches' cards that can either be worn on a wristband or laminated as a sheet. A first set will cost $40, a second set $20, and a third set just $10. And I'm also upping my donation to Stay in Softball to $5 per order. :)

Anyone interested, you can email me at jffbaker3@gmail.com, or call me at (440)251-1584 for more info and an interest form. Thanks!
