Thanks again everyone for all your advise! I'm happy to report my DD made the team that was her #1 pick. We went to one tryout and the entire group was told they would be called in 3 days and let know if they made it or not. They did call and she made it but we declined because in the meantime she tried out for the team she really wanted and the coach pulled my husband and I over and offered her a spot right there and then. We accepted and decided not to go to any more tryouts this year.
