I have a DD who plays 16U. Just curious. I seen a few lists of 10U, 12U and 14U. Like to see some one give 16s a try. From what I've seen of my DD's team they will be in that poll at the end.

Ringer will put together polls for all of the age groups for TB. Those threads that you are seeing are in some instances (the 14U thread, for example) relics from last year that have been kept going by people who want to continue to talk as much softball as possible. Right now Ringer is working on the HS polls.

There are some very very good 16U teams on the horizon for 2010. Glad for you that your DD's team could well be one of those.

16U is a little tougher. You will find a bunch of girls moved between teams. We played up at 16U last year and these are mainly kids that want to play college ball. So kids start to drop out of travel ball and the game becomes a whole lot faster. This was on of Bigtrains commets at Loudonville, when his team played up. The best 16U I watched play last year was at Gapps. So look at who finished in that tourney and it will give you an idea of who was good. The problem is, how many pitchers had to move up to 18U. As an example how things can change The Hawks got one of the best hitters in the state this year.

Jim has been in FL.. The lucky dog. Dana is looking forward to playing high school ball, but right now, as boulderdad knows, we are busy following up with Divn 3 coaches that sent her letters after KSU. Following his advice and experience. Great to have friends that have been thru this.

I would like to talk more about the KSU with you Dan. Sounds good for Dana, bet she is loving it. Cortney is a sophomore this year and I need to do more exposure with her as well.

Slice34 , My dd played up last year at 16U so I got to coach against many of the teams you have listed. That would be a good start for a top 10 this year. The MVE, were very tough and have been with Coach B's influence. He's gone. The OFC had a tough game against us, so I didn't get a true picture of how good they are. I watched the rest and all are very good. I still would add the Hawks 16U to this list, if they have pitching they will be tough to beat with the bats they have.

What team does she play for?

I was told the Hawks have already beaten the MVE, so that just tells you how things can change each year with kids moving to different teams.

From what I have seen this would be my vote ( in no order)

1. Xpress - Pearson
2. Lasers- White
3. Cincy Doom- Wear
4. Classics ( I believe both there 16u teams will be tough)
5. Heart of Ohio Force- Mullaney
6. Stingrays- always field a good team
7. Ohio Intensity- ( this is a 14u that will usally be playing up)- Lilly
8. Pittsburg Power
9. Pittsburg Spirt
10. Wolfpack- Coach A.. ( Very Strong Pitcher)

Well thats what I think, I know I missed a few and even with these tough teams on the field every sat and sunday you never know what will happen.

Ohio Intensity will be a very good 14u. IMHO they will not be a top ten 16u team till they get older. They have good size and speed with good coaching.

We wish all a good season this year and very much looking forward to playing the top ten on the list....only way to be the best is to play the best......going to be interesting this year as so many have left very good teams to go to other very good teams......if some of the teams click and learn to play together should be interesting to see how the top ten list changes throughout the year......but of course HS ball starts Monday and will be interesting to see how that also plays out.......good luck to all..........

Very Nice List. I would add Lazers Scarlet aka Red to the list
along with Extreme, both should be very tough this year.

FYI, OFC Orange moved up this year to 18U (from a previous post).

Doom North deserves serious consideration. They have it all, speed, power, defense and pitching!
