A couple weeks ago I was reading on another message board where USSSA is requiring all approved bats to have a 2012 stamp to be legal. The grandfather period for existing bats ends September 2013 after which any bat that does not have a 2012 will not be legal for USSSA.
An ASA umpire was inspecting our bats this weekend and the topic of USSSA changing their standards came up in discussion and this umpire told us that ASA had already made this same change but according to him the grandfather period for existing bats in ASA is over after this summer season.
Now this same umpire also told us that the ASA run rule was 20 after three so I'm taking him with a grain of salt. Anyone out there informed about what ASA is really doing with regard to bat standards?
