ASA Pick up player rules question

Hi -

DD's permanent team plans to play in 2 ASA tournaments later this summer. One is a qualifier and one is not.

She has been asked to be a pick-up player for another team for an early tournament. If she accepts, will she mess up her rostering for her permanent team?

Thanks

If it is a qualifier in the same sanction then yes she can screw up her roster spot on her normal team

Please elaborate. With USSSA, you get locked in only after you qualify, correct? Is ASA the same?

If you are rostered on a team that plays in a qualifier you are not allowed to be listed on another team roster that plays in a qualifier in the same sanction. You can however play on different teams in different sanctions,,,,,,,,, unless that rule has changed also,

I agree for ASA but does NSA have the same rule? I looked on online and the only thing I see is that you can't play on 2 teams at the same tournament!

In ASA once a roster has been submitted at a qualifier the players on that roster are locked in to that team for any other ASA qualifiers, regionals, or nationals. However, NSA will allow a player to be released from a team and pick up with another team only one time and after an official release has been given by her former coach to the state NSA director.
