The number one reason they will bring it back is because of MONEY! Now that they have some major sponsors inplace the IOC will have no problems given Baseball and Softball the green light. Since other sports are losing major sponsors left and right they have no choice now.

Ricky will be interesting to follow this, but I thought this was just a one time thing. Then a host country can petition again if they want it as a home host event. It is a shame that it was ever taken out of Olympics but we can blame baseball and Easton!

I agree! I inform people, too frequently, on how I dislike easton products and vow never to purchase their products. I have a feeling the "abstain" vote from easton was a sound financial move for ceo and other board members. Just saying.......

What is it that baseball and Easton did to get it removed? Giving girls the opportunity to play on the Olympic team is great motivation for these girls, to do anything to stop that is very disheartening.

Baseball does not want there million dollar athletes getting hurt while playing in Olympics and was told part of the reason Easton abstained and if they would have voted yes it would have passed.

I was wondering if they would have the pros playing in the Olympics for baseball. I know they do for basketball which is a little surprising because it seems like injuries would happen more often in basketball than in baseball. I cant wait to see the day when these girls who bust their butts to get to the pro level get paid for it. I really think that once pro softball starts to become more popular it will really take off.

Your correct Warren a host country can do exactly what you stated. But I'm going to say it now and let see what happens. FASTPITCH SOFTBALL is coming back to stay.
