I am thinking of buying an Anderson Rocket tech 06' and was wondering if their is a break in period with this bat. Also just what does it mean to "Break in" a bat. Sorry if I sound stupid, but I keep hearing about a break in period with some bats and I don't know what it means. Please help. :-/

The Rocket Tech FP does have a small (depending on how often you actually make contact) "break in" period. The number I hear tossed around is about 100 "hits".

in the past our multi wall bats we constructed different than they are today and required a MUCH longer break in period. Back them the inner and outer walls were so tight together that they werent able to flex as much as they normally would. As the bats got hit, the walls would break apart and the bat would get hotter.

Now days, we build the bats with the walls already broken apart so the break in time in minimal.

A lot of times it's the player who's "breaking in" and getting used to the bat. The more comfortable they get the harder and farther they hit the ball.

Good luck and go deep!

SS, Just so know , there is no 06 RT, the 05 RT has stopped being made as of oct. 1st and the new 07 RT. will not be out until next spring , but I've already heard it will NOT be up to the same standard as the current RT's. If you like the the current RT's you might want to get one by christmas as prices will problaby jump to around $300 next year for the 05's as they become harder to find , thanks

In western pa, a number of the conferences have banned the RT and (i believe) the Synergy.

None of the National Sanctioning bodies are banning the RT.

As to there being no '06 bat, I believe that the next generation RT will be out late summer. It is my understanding that it will be "different" than the existing RT. My experience with ALL of the Anderson Bat line is that the bats at all levels are well engineered and perform as expected. I, personally, expect nothing less from Anderson and the new design.

In the meantime, the Thunderplex has stocked up on the 2005 models and are selling them for $219 - the same price we sold them for last year.
