I couldn't find much info out there on this. They must be important because every camp checks them. What are averages for players that are at a recruitable age?

Most of our girls who are 1st year 14's were tested for the 1st time in Crown Point at the PGF Labor Day Showdown. I am not sure the averages, but our best scores were

Bat Speed: 69
Overhand throw: 59
20 Yard: 2.83

Right over here!
http://www.efastball.com/hitting/average-bat-speed-exit-speed-by-age-group/

check this out. At the bottom of each group is fastpitch. I think they are a little low.

Bat speed
10U 45-55 average
12U 50-58 average
14U 53-60 Average
16U 55-62 Average
18U 58-65 Average

Top speeds very but can approach 70-80MPH plus... College/NPF

Exit speed is anywhere from 5-10MPH + depending on temps, pitch speed, altitude, spin, bat type, etc..

Any speeds under 3 ses H2F is above average. The FASTEST college kids are around 2.65 2.75.. And that's smoking fast! of course there is someone gonna tell me they have a kid who is sub 2.2..

Again these are averages and a guideline.

I went to the Rising Stars event in Florida during my freshman year of HS and scored the following:

Home to first: 2.72
Overhand throw: 69 MPH
Bat speed: 55 ***I was mainly a slapper at this time and didn't hit very much, or hit it hard enough at least :)

Any time that an athlete can go an get official scores from a showcase or prospect camp it helps with credibility. I don't know how many emails I get each week saying "my daughter Suzie runs a 2.7 and throws overhand at 62 MPH; she's only 11 and a half". I know this is false, as does everyone else who is familiar with softball. If you can list a running time or throw/hit result on a player profile sheet and can back it up with evidence, such as the Allister report or from an event like the Queen of Diamonds or Rising Stars, it gives the athlete a little more credibility.

My daughter went to the Queen of Diamonds last year as an 8th Grader (03 kid) and below were her results. The Goal listed on their form is in ( ).

20 yd Dash = 3.5 (<2.9)
40 yd Dash = 6.3 (<5.4)
Bat Speed = 69 (>63)
Hand Speed = 34 (>24)
Time to Impact = .90 <.18
Overhand Throw = 57 (>57)

Great call out. You see this all the time with pitching speeds/rev speeds. I love the peanut gallery who guestimate from the side lines on speed. Give me a break. If you have a number on a profile you should cite the source. and that source should not be yr cars speedometer.
