Buckeye Heat JC 9/10U tryouts
My name is John Clark. I’ve been around Fastpitch for going on 14 years both as a pitchers parent and as a coach. Previously I coached with Chris Bower with the Outlaws for 3 years at the highest levels and currently the Avon MS head coach. I have evolved my philosophy from several coaches my daughter played and meshed into my own. Practice needs to be fun yet challenging. Fundamentals will be stressed at practice but not just physically but mentally as well. Players and parents need to be held accountable.
My hitting philosophy comes from Howard Carrier school of thought (Tim Duncan and Chris Bower) while pitching from Dave Leffew. Those who knew my daughter knew they got the most out of my daughter’s smaller frame.
Practices may be rotating based off the location of players. I know as a parent traveling two or three hours can be challenging doing it weekly. In doing this, it gives players and parents an opportunity to have the short ride. I will also be securing a facility during the winter months. As a non-parent coach, I have that flexibility to do this.
The plan will be 2 or 3 fall tourneys, 1 or 2 winter and spring/summer to be decided.
Tryouts are listed below with times potentially being adjusted to field availability and locations will be locked in the next day or two.
Aug 1 from 10-12 with pitchers and catchers staying after. Registration will start at 9:30. Location TBD
Aug 8 from 10-12 with pitchers and catchers staying after. Registration will start at 9:30. Location TBD
Aug 9 from 10-12 with pitchers and catchers staying after. Registration will start at 9:30. Location TBD
Any questions can be emailed at j-l-clark@hotmail..com. I’m quicker at replying to emails than phone calls.
