10-12s will sign up from 4:30-5 pm and tryout from 5-6:30pm
13-16s will sign up from 6-6:30 pm and tryout from 6:30-8 pm

After Nationals are over this weekend we will welcome some new coaches into the organization. We will also be adding a new 16U 99' team that will join together a couple very good teams...as well as a welcoming back an old Heat coach who will be taking over our 11U '04 team in Central Ohio. I am very happy to welcome Rick Stewart, along with his daughter Courtney back to the Buckeye Heat. Rick and Courtney will be coaching our 11U '04 team. Rick most recently was an assistant coach with the 10U Lasers Gold team, while Courtney is a Junior playing softball at Urbana. The two of them have many years of softball experience and I'm looking forward to the outstanding team they will put together and bring up through our Heat organization.

Buckeye Heat 00 will be making the move to 16u. We will only be looking for 1 player. Not looking for an end of bench player. Looking for a competitive player that can make us better. All positions including pitching will be looked at. Just want the best fit. We have versatility among players. Only position we don't need is 1B.

Buckeye Heat '02 Black has the core from last years team returning. We finished our season at the SEAA World Series in Pigeon Forge with a 7th place finish. For next season we will play a competitive schedule including ASA States, Dayton Metro, and Orville Fire in the Sky. If you want to play at a high level, have fun, and be around a great group of players and parents, this is the team for you. Our tryouts will be at the Central Ohio tryouts in Worthington. The 16U Yeater team will be moving up to 18U and looking to build on its successes from this past year. Finishing the season with two tournament wins and two third place finishes.

We will be looking to fill 4-5 positions which will include a pitcher, catcher, 3B, and OF. Versatile utility players are always welcome.

I have been recieving a lot of inquires. I'm glad we have so much interest so far! Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. I thought I'd share some more info about the coaching staff for the Buckeye Heat '04:

Head Coach: Rick Stewart. I have over 10 years of travel ball coaching experience and have helped at every local level including high school. I was part of a very successful Buckeye Heat '95 team that had a top 25 finish (out of 156 teams) at ASA USA's and were ASA Eastern National Champions as well. Most recently, I was part of one of the top 10u travel teams in the state. I have had so much fun over the years and am really looking forward putting together another quality team out of the Buckeye Heat. Being able to coach with my oldest daughter is icing on the cake.

Assistant Coach: Courtney Stewart. Courtney has over 10 years experience playing travel ball including the Buckeye Heat '95 and helped lead her high school team to districts for the first time in years while winning All Ohio honors. She is currently fullfiling her dream of playing college ball while working on a dual major in chemistry and biochemistry (she gets that from her mother....lol). Offensively, as a lead off lefty speedster, she developed true triple threat capabilities. Defensively, after years of pitching or playing 2b, she developed her outfield skills to help ensure she would play somehwere as a college freshman; and has fallen in love with it. She works a lot with younger athletes, and is extemely excited to help teach her skillset on this new team. I also nominated her as my social media manager, so she should actually be posting this.... Facebook is hers for sure.

We hope to see a lot of talented young ladies at tryouts. They need to be sure to bring 2 things: a good attitude and a smile!

I am very excited to finally announce our new 16U '99 team coached by Pat Bridger and Rick Ferguson. Here is the official press release on the team...

Introducing Buckeye Heat/3n2 Sports 16U College Showcase Team

This team will be coached by Pat Bridger and Rick Ferguson. This team has been hand selected from some of the most talented athletes around the central Ohio area. With the help of scorekeeper Mike Nashalsky, Recruiting Coordinator Jim Tracy and Team Administrator Trisha Bridger the group will try and provide the best opportunity for these young ladies to achieve their goal of playing college softball.
Rick has several years experience coaching travel softball and is the current Ridgedale High School softball Head Coach.
Pat also has several years of coaching travel softball experience and was formerly with the Ohio Glory 99. He also works at Make the Team owned and operated by Ali Viola where he teaches defensive skills classes and assists in hitting lessons and team clinics.
3n2 Sports out of Florida will be backing this team and will be the only current fastpitch team in Ohio to be sponsored by them.
This team is currently full but we will accept inquires.
