The Buckeye Heat 04 (ROBBINS) team migrated from the Miami Valley Xpress for the 2016-17 season. We are coming off of a few successful seasons with this last season ending in a couple 1st place finishes. With passionate girls and dedicated coaches we strive to not only getting better at the game but also smarter. We will compete in 2-3 tournaments/friendlies this fall as well as a winter tournament in February. The summer of 2017 will consist of playing 6-7 tournaments including a national or world series of some sort.
We are looking for an experienced outfielder to round out our 11 player roster. If you are interested in a private tryout please call/text Donnie @ (937)408-8070. We are primarily out of the North Dayton area and will practice accordingly once per week.

***NEW*** 12U Buckeye Heat '04 Todd Pepe
I have been involved in baseball and softball for over 15 years. I've coached various levels of softball for the past 4 years, including travel at the 10U level. I place great emphasis on teaching the fundamentals and skill development of the game, which is instrumental toward experiencing fun, championship softball. Good sportsmanship is also very important to me, as I teach the values of respecting each other, their opponents, and all of those that are part of the game.
I plan on the team practicing twice per week through October and participating in 1 or 2 tournaments this fall. We will break for the month's of November and December, and reconvene practicing in January and February twice per month. We may also participate in the Mannino's Fall and/or Winter indoor hitting league. I'll share additional details on the hitting league as the tournament schedule for the fall becomes more certain. My plan for the spring and summer is to play in 6 to 10 appropriately competitive tournaments (maximum 10), with some qualifiers included. I don't plan on extensive out of state travel, however, I plan to travel within the state of Ohio (Dayton, Wilmington, Akron, etc...) I also plan to practice twice per week beginning in March through July.
I live in the Delaware area and will likely practice there, as well as other venues in the central Ohio area. I'm very passionate about the game, and I'm eager to begin working with the 12U Buckeye Heat '04 team!

Entering 6th season as Buckeye Heat 01 Head Coach (14th season overall coaching travel)
The Buckeye Heat 01 had its best season ever during 2016. The team was 41-15 during the summer schedule. Finishing the year strong with a runner up finish at USSSA Eastern Nationals in Salisbury MD and 5th place finish at ASA Northerns in Mt. Pleasant Michigan.
Highlights of 2016 include:
Dayton Metro - 4-2, sitting in 9th alive in losers bracket when rains came
Lasers Invitational: 6-3, 5th
Orrville Fire in the Sky: 4-1, 17/108
Fastpitch Showdowns Recruitfest: 4-1, 4th/48
USSSA Eastern Nationals in Salisbury, MD: 7-3, 2nd place
ASA Northern Nationals in Mt. Pleasant, MI: 6-2, 5th
Playing very similar schedule each year and with minimal player turnover, the team has continued to improve. In 2015 as 13u our summer record was 25-15-5 with top finishes of 9th at Lasers, 17th out of 150 as 14u Midwest World Series and 7th at ASA Eastern Nationals. The previous year (2014) at 12u we were 28-23-2 with top finishes of 5th at Dayton Metro, 17th at Lasers, 13th at ASA States and 13th as ASA Eastern Nationals.
The 2016-2017 team is looking for 1-2 players to add to its strong returning group which includes outstanding pitching. The team is looking for a middle infield position and will consider any good all around athlete.
We will continue to play a top notch schedule as in previous years and get college coach exposure. See website for schedule history.

**NEW** 16U Buckeye Heat '00 Scott McCleary
I have been involved in Softball for the majority of my life as my sister is the Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at The University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. I have learned from my sister by watching her play and coach, as well as, I have run Notre Dame camps and clinics for the past 10 years. I have coached travel softball for the past 5 years and Middle school softball for 4 years.
My goal is to create a team that can showcase and be recruited by college coaches.
Players will be required to contact college coaches on a weekly basis working with me through this process.
We will play 3 fall tournaments with 1 showcase,1 winter tournament at Tiffin University, and 6-7 summer tournaments with the goal to attend a national tournament (ASA, PGF). We will also attend a fall clinic at the University of Notre Dame and our team will be instructed by the entire current Notre Dame coaching staff.
We will be based out of the Mid Ohio area and practice year round outside of high school season.
My goal is to get these players as much college exposure as possible.
We will be attending the Buckeye Heat tryouts on August 13, 2016.
We are looking at all positions with an emphasis on more pitching, a strong SS, and another Catcher. We have a solid core of 6-7 players from my previous team.

18U Buckeye Heat Shayne Yeater
The 18U Buckeye Heat - Yeater team will be made up of first year '99 and second year '98 players, but any 16U or 18U player will be considered. We will practice around the central Ohio area at various locations throughout the fall to minimize the travel for everyone. We will be entering several fall tourneys in hopes of getting the remaining players on our team signed to play college ball. Over the winter we will likely practice several times a month which could include some indoor games before releasing the players to their HS teams in February. At the completion of HS ball we will get the team back together for several spring workouts before getting back on the field for our summer schedule. We look to do 6-7 weekends, with a Nationals or World Series tourney to end the season.
We will be looking to add 2 pitchers, a catcher, an outfielder, and an infielder. If you are an enthusiastic player that loves the games, is vocal on the field, extremely athletic then give me a call. I am a non-parent coach that expects your very best!!! If you cant make tryouts and want a private tryout give me a call.
