Calling NCAA rules experts

Are there any rules limiting games played Varsity vs. JV (Or "reserves" as some schools call it)?

My daughter is a freshman (D III) who plays some V and some JV. Played V last night and has a JV game Friday - but doesn't know if she will be on the field for the JV game. Is this a NCAA policy or her school's policy?

Not sure about NCAA, but the National HS rules say they can play 28 total regular season games. It doesn't matter if it is on JV or V. They can only play DHs on non school days, so they can't play in a JV then a V game on a week night.....that usually doesn't happen anyway that they play on the same day.

D3 is limited to 40 regular season games, so she may be getting close at this time of the year if they had very many JV games. Not sure what the game limits are in the other divisions.

This shouldn't involve the '40 game clause'. We're at 36 now, and she hasn't played in every game on the schedule.

Yes, D3 has the 40-game limit, which I'm thinking is for individuals. So as long as she stays within 40 regular season games, she's fine. I'm not sure the NCAA rules even specify anything about JV.

They can move between fields durring the contest though. Start JV, and move down to the V game and be put in as a sub.
