can a 12u play 12 and 14u same weekend

This is the time of year when 14u teams are shorthanded because most freshman are still not released. Here is my question. If an organization has both a 12u and a 14 u team at a tourney if the 14u team is short can they bring up a 12u to play and still allow that 12u to play with her own team. Keep in mind the 14u team would add her to roster but if they were to win would not accept a berth which would freeze that roster. Your help please

I don't necessarily agree with it either. I could play devil's advocate and argue for either side.

It also applies if you have 2 12U teams, you can't move one from the other.

? Players can only participate on ONE team during the season.


? Players cannot play on two different AGE CROUPS with in the same organization.
Players CANNOT be borrowed for a weekend. Even IF they are age eligible to play both age divisions.
Examples: A 14 year old cannot play one weekend with the 14u team, and then play a different weekend with the 16u team because they need players for a particular weekend.
Players cannot play on a 12u team and a 14u team on the same weekend.
This is an ineligible/illegal player. PLAYER AND COACH WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR 1 YEAR.


? Players participating that are not listed on the Official NSA Roster will be considered an ineligible/illegal player. PLAYER AND COACH WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR 1 YEAR.
ALL players participating in NSA tournaments must be listed on the official NSA Online Roster. All players must sign their own name, and if under the age of 18 must have parent or legal guardian signature in order to participate.

The intent is to eliminate the "hired gun" scenario, but it does make things tough for this time of year.

What about ASA? Can a 14u player play for a 16u team within her organization if her 14u team is not playing the same weekend?

I suggest going to the individual sanctions and proposing this. Put in a special rule stating this. A player can move up and play a maximum of 3 tournaments at the next age bracket up while remaining on her current roster providing she plays within the same organization. This handles the problem and eliminates the hired gun scenario. The only thing this does not do is eliminate duplicates in the sanctions computors which may be where the problems lies. Food for thought.
