hello OFC- I have a question for the pro's that know the rules for ASA rostering.

QUESTION:

Can a girl play on an ASA roster in one age group and also play on another ASA roster in a second age group in the same season? and be able to play in qualifiers, nationals etc... (just for example lets say 14u and 16u)

I had someone ask me this the other day and i am not sure what the answer is.

Thanks!

The answer is NO if they are attempting to play in qualifiers in each age. Once you are rostered and have competed in an age bracket, you are locked in to that age bracket.

You are also locked into one roster until you are released.

Rule of thumb.....if qualifiers are involved, no team switching is legal regardless of age groups. Once you are locked onto a roster you cannot be on any other roster without a release. The only time you can guest play or sub is when the tournament is a NON qualifier or open roster tournament.

Last year oldest dd played up at 16U in the Dayton Metro only. She does not play travel unless for those situations (except this year where she's playing local. That was the only tournamnet she played in. She was 14U and no longer qualified for any 14U teams. Hope that answers your question.

In the same sanctioning body no.
But you could play 16u Pony, 14u NSA, 18u ASA
Try and keep that straight.

Evil Dad hit it right on the nose for different sanctioning bodies. But the same one, espicially ASA........nope.
Not to say it hasnt been done in certain slick ways (cough, cough).
