What's the rule on one player on two rosters?

My DD has been asked to play in a fall ASA sanctioned tournament. She is going to be playing for another team next summer. I want to make sure that her egibility will not be affected if she plays for this team. Can anyone help on what the rule is on appearing on two different rosters? Thanks!

Technically she is still bound to her 2008 summer team roster. She needs a release from that team to play for another. 2009 rosters cannot even be submitted until nov or december so that is not an issue.

She'll be fine playing on a team this fall. The new roster is not established till after the new year.

Can a player play ASA in 2009 and be on two rosters? If the players primary team is only playing 3 tournaments can she pick up with another team the weekends she is not scheduled to play with her primary team? This becomes more of an issue with the older age groups (18U & 23U) as some girls don't want to play a full schedule once they start college and some want to play as often as they can.

I don't know all the details, but I believe problems come into play if she plays on a team in a tournament in which they earn a berth.

I sent a note to the ASA commisioner and the response back to me that you are frozen with the 2008 team that you qualified with! I was always told that you could be released, but Im not sure that is the case for 2009. Better clarify with the commisioner.

I think clarification on this issue would be great. I think a lot of girls play for more than one team at some point. Some girls only play as a pick up player and play for more than one team. Can they be rostered week to week? Do they need to be released each week? If they play in a 2009 tourney and the team qualifies are they stuck with the qualifying team? Replies to these questions would be appreciated.

I personally spoke to 4 seperate ASA Directors . Everyone said the exact same thing. Your roster starts Jan 1st 2009 , anything before that ends Dec. 31st Qualifier or NOT doesnt matter. Only rule is if your team qualifies you need to carry 75 % of roster over to that National Tournament from the qualifer.The other thing is in 2009 if you play in a qualifer and qualify with that team you are locked on that roster for 2009 , unless you get a release from that team !
