Is Lancaster in the OCC? If so, who is this pitcher we might start talking about? Just curious. I also wanted to add a girl at Westerville Central, Paige Mcmenemy. She is a great player who will definitely help that team, quality pitcher and a very strong bat.

Yes Lancaster is in the OCC. Not sure who the pitcher is but they need more than a pitcher with the division they are in. A lot of catching up to do with Gahanna Lincoln, Grove City, Pick Central and North, Groveport..

Lancaster has a good pitcher/catcher combo. Pitcher improved alot this past year and the catcher is very solid. Will be some fun games this year.

Jenna Jones/Angel Walter is most likely the Pitcher/Catcher combo you are talking about at Lancaster.

Hayes should be a strong contender for the Capital Division title along with Hilliard Bradley. Although Hayes did very well last season, the addition of Cooper and Woerner may be enough to give the Lady Pacers the boost needed to make it further than Sectionals. Hayes defense is very strong and the offense should also be much improved. They are returning one of the district's top batters and baserunners in Schmidt, one of the top shortstops in Bowman, and top pitchers in Hinten. Cooper and Woerner should compliment them well.

I'm not familiar with Hayes but I do know Coop and she will be not only a great pitcher for them but also is a tough offensive player as well. Look forward to seeing her at the Lancaster Classic.

Not sure why it beeped me out there - did not get nasty - Just thinking that I have coached 6 girls on central that I can think of and several on my dd North team and although I will be rooting hard for North, I think I will find myself rooting for several players on both teams - all good kids! Love to remember the rec games when they were 7 and 8 years old!

And now I am walking away from the keyboard!!!!!!!!!!!

ps - Majierpaine's kid was one of my favorites

Freshman have enough on their plate when the make varsity at a DI school without Dad bragging or more likely pushing them too hard (in my case). I am happy that she has reached one of her goals. Have always encouraged my kids to set goals and then when they reach them, set higher or different goals. fyi - my dd and one other (Lucas) made varsity. Should be a fun year - all starts next week!

After a week of scrimmages (starting Friday), Westerville North will head to Myrtle Beach to work out the kinks before starting OCC play. The Warriors will have games against some strong opponents. On the schedule:

Massillon Jackson (OH) -from the same conference that produced Massillon Perry, who won the Division I State championship.

Antioch Lakes (IL) - The Division III third-place finisher in Illinois last year, returning players hit a total of 20 home runs in 36 games (the team total was 48).

Walsh Jesuit (OH) - A two-time Division II District finalist out of the Akron area.

Hamilton Ross (OH) - District finalists in Division II last year.

Then - back to Ohio to start the OCC season.
