Because they finally realize a poll means nothing.
I asked about that on a prior thread and was told - accurately - that by that age even 14U more Showcases are being worked into the mix vs. "Tournaments" per se. (Please someone correct me if that's wrong). That being said I'd love to see a 14 U poll 
.
Plus being somewhat new around here (my daughter is in 8U) polls help me try to remember who the best teams / organizations out there are.

The polls do have some weight .. I've seen naysayers put on their big girl pants and go actually play some of the top ten and usually get hammered . Yes there are exceptions but people ( parents ) dogging the polls usually dont have a kid on a team that is getting votes . Sure there is some chest pounding , but in general the polls are accurate.

The funniest parents/coaches are those that catch a good team in pool play in a 50 min contest and the favorite throws their number 3 and the underdog throws their stud ( usually only pitcher on the team) and only loses by a couple runs and brags to beat heck about " WE CAN PLAY WITH ANYONE" .

No, you just stated they were a joke . I assume the team you are associated with isnt ranked ? Do you think they should be ? Have you played anyone in the top 10 ? List your scores .
I've been apart of teams good enough to receive votes but didn't see the need to stroke myself to see the team I coach on the list. I love to see how this gets your panties in a bunch!! Did I strike a nerve with you? This must be your list and your idea.....Sorry!!

What is a joke is 26 "ranked" teams in 12U. Unless you do your own research you only see a handful of teams posting their results from the previous weekend (of course, ONLY if they win do the others post). Maybe next week instead of PM'ing your votes to Oiler Pride (thanks for what you do btw....) post your name, organization/team you are representing, and your top 10 #lettherealfunbegin

Dont have a dd playing anymore , so wrong again . I have nothing to do with any team . Period . Strike a nerve ? not too much , but I've seen a ton of whiners complain about those are getting it done on the field . So how about you answer some of my questions . What team that you coached are you referring to that was worthy of votes ?

If someone wants to run a poll for the older age groups, they are certainly welcome to do so. But my guess is you won't see a lot of participation for some of the reasons stated earlier.

The polls are for fun... They are subjective. There are no real "metrics" which measure things like w/l, strength of schedule, quality of turney, or whether a team is playing up. The most recent 12u poll is a great example. Everything is limited by simple votes and votes of other coaches. lasers 02 are clearly one of the top teams and arguably the best as they rarely play 12u. The other top 3 or 4 are excellent as well, just don't get a chance to play lasers as much. The point is there is popularity contest of sorts going on with these polls, however at the older ages its about exposure. Everyone knows what the best turnesy are and who they need to play. If you are lucky enough to have a "dog in the fight" enjoy the ride!
To many feelings get hurt. Its not a science, rather to know who is playing where and what they are doing. Do some of the coaches enjoy posting? of course its more of being proud then it is " chest thumping" ..
My suggestion is if you don't like the poll don't read them... If you do smile and have a nice day..

The funniest thing about the polls is the guy doing it giving advice on how to gain "respect" in the polls. They are really only for entertainment purposes. I coach a 10u team listed near the top of the poll every week, and the only positive thing from it was in the beginning you could see who to look for in tournaments that someone pointed out as good. Especially at 10u, because you don't really know anybody. Since then they are completely worthless. It's not like we can change anything from our original tournament schedule that was done in Dec/Jan. The kids on the field know who the good teams are. Manitoudan TKO
