I've gotta start wearing flip flops, it still looks like I have my socks on when I don't! Just shows how many hours we spend in the sun for our players! On my way to Old Navy!

Varsity coaches only get between $4,000 and maybe $6,000 not $20,000. Sorry but it's not about being comfortable but looking professional and flip-flops don't do it for anyone. The part about having another adult around when talking to a parent is for the coaches protection. I invite you to check out the Hawks guidelines they are really good ideas to think about and follow.

Sounds to me like your outvoted on the flip flops. Nice try SD.

i wear flip flops all the time, it doesn't diminish my coaching ability because i don't like tennis shoes in the summer. Remember, most coaches are volunteering their time....start paying them 20,000 a year and then you can tell them what they can and can't wear. I understand some rules are needed to keep the team running smoothly but attire and when you can and can't talk to other parents...come on!! Why not just say thank you very much for donating all your time, knowledge, and money (most still pay the team fee for their kid to play even though they are coaching) to the girls and the team???

I actually like the coaches guidelines they have posted. No I am not from the Hawks Org, but maybe my DD will give them a look at try out time. Although, flip flops really does not bother me at all.

When we choose a team the last thing on our mind is what the coach wears. We are more concerned about other things like honesty, integrity and how they treat their players.
