College Softball Tournament in North Lewisburg...

Does anybody know anything about this tournament? Is it going on this year? If so, when? DD and I like to go watch! Any information would be helpful....

The schedule I received at Urbana U shows that it is scheduled for Sept. 26 and 27 but it will be in Marysville.

Man I just love this game. Tournament just hit the OFC and we have an umpire that will work free that weekend. Thank you. Anymore umpires want to donate their time?

Do you suppose that "free that weekend" means "available", not "you don't have to pay me"?

I do have kind of a soft spot for the friendly confines of the fields in North Lewisburg. It's a nice little park. You drive into town and you have a gas station, a convenience store, a Dairy Freeze and a ballpark. What more does one need in life! Lot's of good memories for me from working games out there.

The initial Heart of Ohio College Fall Classic will be played at the Union County Joint Recreation Park on Saturday September 26 and Sunday September 27. Starting in 1992 The College Fall Classic is the oldest College Fall Classic in the State of Ohio and was previously played at the North Lewisburg softball diamonds.

This year's field of teams are members of the American Mideast Conference, the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, the Ohio Athletic Conference, the South Atlantic Conference and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. These conferences are governed by the NCAA and the NAIA.

The field is composed of Cedarville University, Clark State Community College, Lincoln Memorial University of Harrogate, Tenn., Miami Valley XPress Collegiate Team, Mt. Vernon Nazarene University, Shawnee State University, Tiffin University, and Urbana University.

Former central Ohio athletes are represented on many of the rosters in this year's Fall Classic. Cedarville University: Emily Young (Delaware/Pleasant). Clark State Community College: Bethany Hackley (Triad). Lincoln Memorial University: Devin Sponseller (Delaware), Jackie Adams (St. Francis DeSales), Mira McPeek (Thomas Worthington), Kris Landenburg (Canal Winchester). Mount Vernon Nazarene University: Caitlin Murphy (Gahanna), Tasha Konkle (West Liberty Salem), Kristin Kurelic (Worthington Christian). Urbana University: Alecia Epps (Marysville), Heather Hakola (Marysville), Maria Hendricks (Urbana), Gina Palmer (Jonathan Alder).
