2nd year for me at this showcase. Competition seemed to be better this year than last. I do have a couple of issues that I think could be looked at to make this event an even greater showcase. I understand that in a venue such as this - it's not so much about winning the game as it is to " showcase " your teams talents. BUT....... with a 1 hour drop dead time limit.. I don't think that the pitchers need 5 warm up pitches at the beginning of the inning. Outfield and infield do not need to be throwing the balls around while the pitchers are warming up. In our 3rd game of the day .. the first pitch of the game was not thrown until 8 minutes after the horn blew for the start of the game. That brought a 1 hour game down to just 52 minutes. now take away all of the warm up pitches - now your are down to about a 35 - 40 min game. Can't get too much going in that amount of time.

I would suggest for future indoor events such as this -
( A ) no more than 2 warm up pitches ( if any at all )
( B ) no outfield / infield warmups
( C ) batters start with a 1 ball / 1 strike count

JMHO.... :D

I agree Laser 00. They should make sure the game keeps moving. Our last game started 8 minutes late do to a schedule mix up and the time was not made up. Still drop dead after the 52 minutes.

Great recommendations. I would suggest emailing Coach JJ directly with the recommendations.

I would have preferred 3 one hour and twenty minute games. Less time changing fields and same amount of playing time.
