I can find info on pitching speed needed for D1 ( 60+ ), but what about the girls that can you can throw mid 50's but have elite type spin / movement. What divisions would be interested in them?

Thanks

I'm not sure what the definition of "elite" spin would be, but if the pitcher throws legit mid 5o's with really awesome north/south/east/west movement with impeccable control, she would be recruitable at any level.

I define elite spin as in top 10%. Rotations Per Second in the high 20's. Thanks for the input!

velocity and spin are just two of many factors to consider....control and placement are just a couple more....how the pitcher performs in the games is where all the numbers become meaningless...if it were just a matter of "how fast do you throw" or "what's your spin rate" why would a coach even need to see a game?...if your DD can COMPETE, and is in the conversation with speed, movement, etc. then she is much more desirable as a recruit than the pitcher with higher numbers that falters when it comes to mental toughness and winning spirit.......also, if your family and DD aren't doing the leg work to contact coaches, get the videos, being COMPETITIVE on a quality team in an established organization and all of that part of recruitment, chances are no colleges are going to be looking anyway......bottom line, at least to me, is don't get caught up in the numbers, in fact put them out of your mind so that kind of stinkin' thinkin' doesn't bleed over to your DD.....teach your kid how to get good grades, have a competitive nature and "elite" attitude and unquestioned sportsmanship....if she has that, she will be the best SHE can be, and any coach in the country will fight to have her.

That is a great post...and a quality that is had to teach!
