This would be my first coaching clinic so I have some questions:
Is this all speeches or is this hands on
all day of talking heads would be hard to take so can you provide an agenda of some type ?
adding 4 hours of drive time makes this a long day so I want to make sure it is productive. Do they provide any DVD or drill books to take home? We can only absorb so much in our old age.

Good question! There will be some paper work handed out and DVD's on different topics will be available as well.
The clinic will include classroom and on-field instruction.

Thank you for registering for the coach's and/or player's defensive clinic on November 6th. This email is the first of many that you will receive about the defensive clinic. We hope that our out of town coaches/players will book their stay at the Wingate hotel. They are putting up our instructors for the weekend so staying there may give you more access to them. This is also the location of the coaches clinic and the Saturday evening social.

Coaches and parents attending the coaches clinic will have a short time to drop off/register any players for their clinic at SWOBAT. Having as many instructors/speakers as we do we will want to start the clinics on time and keep to the above schedule.
We still have a few spaces in the coaches clinic but the players clinic is now sold out. There are also spaces available for the Sunday personal lessons for anyone who may be interested. Please contact me direct for individual lessons on pitching, catching or fielding.
Players will be very busy and need to bring their glove (catcher's mit, outfield and infield), game face, mouth piece, turf shoes/gym shoes, catcher's gear and beverage. We will supply pizza and water for lunch but players may bring their own food if they are allergic to pizza. There will be clinic t-shirts, DVDs and training aids available for purchase at SWOBAT. We assure all that your players/kids will be treated like our own during the clinic.

Coaches will have much to absorb during our classroom and on-field sessions of the coaches clinic. Coaches will need to bring a notebook, several pens/pencils, clip board, voice recorder, glove and/or catchers mit. Video Cameras are not allowed as it violates production agreements with some of our speakers. We will be serving a buffet style lunch in lieu of a box lunch, free coffee and beverage will be available through out the day.

We have moved the location of the clinic and will now have room to add additional players to the clinic. The move also shortens the distance (to 5-8 minutes) between the player and coach?s clinic location. The new location also offers the option of conducting all/or part of the clinic outside on a softball field (weather permitting). Please make sure players dress in layers and are prepared to be inside and/or outside. The new location is approximately a half hour drive north of the old location.

Ok, I have to admit sitting next to Mike Candrea at dinner tonight for 2 hours was pretty cool. Hard to know what to say and not sound stupid. Very laid back kind of guy. We took Kobata, Candrea, Hartwig and Hillhouse out to dinner - the conversation was priceless - seemed sureal at times.
I love Deb Hartwig, such passion for the game and the kids. We talked for an hour about west coast vs. midwest players and why midwest kids are better .. really! She will share with us tomorrow.
Hope to see everyone tomorrow at the clinic - thanks again to all that are coming.

In a word to describe today's clinic, "WOW"! Amazing the knowledge that was there today. Incredible what was taught and learned today. Coach Candrea was amazing. Very humble and one of the most genuine person I have ever heard talk. Could listen to him for hours! Thank you Ohio Hawks for putting on such a wonderful lesson filled clinic. Cannot wait for the next one!!!

It was an amazing day just listening to coach Candrea was priceless. Also Deb Hartwig had several nice ideas also. Very glad we came. DD said she she had a good time at the players clinic also
