We are viewing this tournament as a great chance to get ready for Nationals. Since there is not a 2011 bid being given out teams can feel free to play up if they choose to maximize competition right before Nationals.

We will also be hosting our Sheer Madness Invitational June 10-12. Spots are filling up quickly. PM me for details on either.

After talking to Warren we have also been given the opportunity to give out bids from this tournament for 2012 ASA Nationals. Anybody have any thoughts on whether or not we should stay non bid or if you would rather have 2012 bids if you win your age group?

Can you clarify which Nationals?

I am assuming it would be an ASA A Eastern bid for 2012, but I sent him an email this morning to see if any other options would be available.

Anybody else have any thoughts on whether they would like an ASA bid for 2012 or if they would rather keep it non bid? I am hoping to hear back from Warren tomorrow on my questions.

I thought the whole concept was to allow teams the ability to play up and prepare for nationals. If you offer a bid they will no longer be able to play up according to the ASA rule (as stupid as it may be). I say leave it as a no-bid tourney.

Agree with Doug on this. Also, just have always thought it was a bit of a joke to qualify for next year's nationals by playing in something the previous year, or indoors in winter for that matter.
