I'm not from 16u or part of the organization, but its a shame that you would base your decision on a single 16u team. We played a team that was a little rough around the edges (parents) but you get that from travel ball sometimes.

But I want to add something I witnessed and its changing the subject. I would say this came from two teams we played. It seem if certain players were up to bat (maybe their DD) that father would be right on the fence behind home plate coaching their dd; just rattling on the entire time she was at bat. I don't know about the coach on that team but I would not be taking that player next year; then you had about five more sitting behind home plate arguing every other call. Word to parents......it only frustrates your DD more when dad is barking in their ear during a game. I coach our team but my dd also plays high school ball (I do not coach). During her High school ball I am out in center field ENJOYING the game not saying a peep to her or motioning and "signals" to her. Parents let the coaches coach and just enjoy watching your dd play the game; she will do fine without you for a game or two.

For the conditions I thought the tourney went well. We were glad to play some ball regardless of the outcome and how the weather affected it.

ALL Madness Staff

Had a great day (season and 8 fun years of coaching) DD made it thru no injuries good day at the plate even with a rocky start.
Madness Staff GREAT JOB!!! No one can control weather, fields were a little slick to start, but what a great day.. HOT HOT HOT!!!!! I will recommend your tourneys to all of our Valley Extreme Teams.

bigmomma03..I guess my question is other then the 16u rude team/parents.... was the tournamnet ran good? even tho the fields took on serious rain and games canceled etc..the Madness staff, parents, umps & volunteers of other teams worked very hard to get the games in... saw that myself! If you have a issue with a team maybe you should direct it to them not the others who WORKED VERY HARD for the other WONDERFUL TEAMS!!! Thanks had a great weekend at the Madness Tourney...will be back...

I think that the Madness did a great job with the weather and fields. To bad we didnt get games in on Saturday but everyone got to play on Sunday. I think Bigmomma's team might of had a rough day. Might be a good idea not to judge everyone by ones actions. Great weekend Hurricanes Black 16U.

I thought they did a great job with the tournament considering the weather I am not sure what more they could have done. Getting the brackets finished was a major accomplishment.

Bill White,

It was a pleaseure doing battle the last few years. We had a few good games and always had fun playing you guys. Best of luck with retirement from coaching.

to the dad behind home plate and the parents arguing calls if you have any hopes of your dd's going to college to play ball "do not" do this again because college coaches notice not only your daughter playing but the parents behavior and it is a sure way not to get your daughter into a quality program.

As a parent / excoach and a umpire I would have to say this was the worst touranment I have ever been to.there were some very rude unsportsmen like coachs and players from a 16u team.there and I know for a fact are team will never retrun to any touranment ran from this ppl.nor would I point any team to goto this touranment.

I bet you complained about paying for parking too? I hope your an "ex" umpire too!

Acutally our Sabotage team played very very well that weekend! Won our 1st game on Sunday and played the 2nd game against a very brash team (only lost 5-0)...worst sports, even had the coach come at one of my players on the field yelling at her! Lady ump behind the plate did a very good job...it was the gentleman in the outfield that was BFF's with the other coach and let him call the whole game! He was also very disrespectful to our coaches...including myself! So when we say we won't come back, nothing against the tournament...it was about the UMPIRES!

On a side note, it was a 4GG and we only played 2...they said they would email us about getting a refund check to us, which hasn't happened yet. Curious to know if anyone else got a refund check?? If so do you know who we need to contact to get that ball rolling? We'd like to use that towards a Fall Tourney!

Thanks so much!!
