I love college wrestling and go throught the same thing with the big ten and espn when they cover the Championships but realize its starting to get more coverage and respect.. so with all the interest and positive feedback it will get better .. and I believe our H.S. coach has that slap and run offense as well as the correct defense for it.

Oh I believe there is a legit time / place for a slap and run, but no way under those circumstances . A straight suicide squeeze with a standard bunt would be much much easier to execute and more likely to succeed .

Will update the perfect bracket contest after today's last 3 games are finished ... it would appear there are 2 perfect brackets still as of now.

With one game left to go, I believe everyone has now missed at least one game, so Ricky can breathe easier! If anyone still thinks they have a perfect bracket let me know. On the other hand, I didn't do so well, so someone else is definitely going to win the $25 from me! I will post bracket update sometime tomorrow.

Well the 1st Annual Perfect Bracket Contest presented by The Softball Zone Radio Show would appear to be over.

But we all had so much fun, why end the contest correct ?
Tune in to Tuesday night show and everyone can have a redo.... But its all for pride and glory.

Ricky will post my bracket summary to a website, but according to my unofficial tally, everyone has been eliminated. Scores ranged from 10 right to 15 right, with mogsoftball, rico23 and longball00 each leading the way with 15 correct. However, rico23 already has one incorrect in the super-regionals (ASU). Just 6 of the 16 entrants have a chance to get all 8 super-regional winners right, and all 16 entrants still have the final two possible.

After we post this, please take a look to make sure I had your picks correctly summarized and PM me with any issues you see. This was a manual process to summarize so it is possible there could be an error.

And aside from the "redo" Ricky mentions above, please note that I also promised $25 to the person with the most right, assuming that it wasn't me ... and it's not going to be me!

Was the catch that the center fielder made over the fence? It's softball so there are about 2 cameras per game. Only 1 of them was pointed at the catch and it was from the worst angle possible so there was no way to tell by looking at it. I guess I shouldn't complain, I saw some highlights of the Nebraska game on B1G Network and it had to be from a web cast.

Over the fence or not, whadda catch. I think I may have saw Hutch almost crack a smile.

I don't know the particulars, but I respect LSU coach Beth Torina for leaving one of her top pitchers at home for violating team rules and going to AZ with just 2 freshmen.

Scary moment in the first inning Saturday as Kelsee Selman was grazed by a comebacker on her face/mouth (she turned her head). She was understandably shaken afterward, but kept pitching and finished the game.

In her first action since April 20 and her first start since March 16 against Florida, Selman came through in the toughest spot a freshman could face in helping the team stave off elimination and weathered a single run in the second and a two-run home run with two outs in the fifth to earn the win and move to 6-2 on the season. She went the distance allowing all three runs on seven hits with only one walk to power through and hold on for the victory.

I liked both LSU freshman pitchers...Selman and Corbello...Seemed to have identical mechanics.
