Looking for some good electronic scoring and stats software. Looking for some advice from people who have had some good experience with it.
Thanks

Game changer is very user friendly and figures the stats for you.

IScore is also very good and easy to use once you get the hang of it.

If your score keeper understands the finer details of scoring and has no bias, you can get great information from both.

ISCORE Just the spray pattern alone will help you against teams you play more than once. It was very useful in high school.

Ditto krrcoach. I tried both I score and gamechanger and I prefer gamechanger. To each their own. The one thing I do know about the gamechanger app is if youre using an Android its behind on the updates compared to Apple. I was checking it out on a friends Samsung tablet and there were several things I couldnt do on his that I could do on my Ipad. Another thing, if you are using a first gen I pad (like me) it will not support the new IOS 7 update so you will need a new I pad. I will go with the new I pad over saving $ with buying Android based on the feature difference between the two. I cant remember off the top of my head what I couldnt do on the Android but I do remember it was significant enough for me to stick with the I pad.

I use iScore and love it. Have been using it for going on 4 years now. Like others have said there is a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, then you are golden. If scored correctly the data that this app gives you is invaluable. Yes there is a one time fee of $10, but that is the best $ I have ever spent.

Static 98 has been using GameChanger on an Iphone... and broadcasting the game play by play for the season fee for 2 seasons now. We have 30+ family members logged on and they become unhappy when the LIVE feed isn't working well. I've seen both and as mentioned, to each his own now the Gamechanger got its act together on how to handle the Flex-DP roster issues.

From my perspective I would much rather if coaches used iscore so I would not have to pay a $40 annual subscription for gamechanger.

For Android users who just follow the games, don't bother downloading the app. Unlike the iOS version you can't view the play by play in-app at this time. You must use your web browser.

My wife does it "for fun" for the parents and has tried both also. We settled on Game Changer. She liked the feel of the app better then iScore. We use it on my daughters iPad Mini. Never had any issues with sun or shade. I found a couple of cheap 2500 mah battery packs that we hook up to the USB charger to give it a quick recharge. We made it through six games in a row at the World Series this year.

I have iScore and SCsoftball, and I haven't been able to figure out either one. It seems once the game starts, things happen to quickly for me to keep up so I end up staying with the book. Would love to be able to dump the book. Is there a trick to getting up to speed with iScore?

Practice, practice and more practice. Start with friendlies where it doesn't necessarily matter if the stats are right, just so you can learn the flow. I have been using the app for 3 years now and I still learn new tricks.

practice at a friendly game is a great suggestion.... another way to get up to speed is to score a MLB game in front of the TV.
