The press release also stated there will be 40 games that hasn't been decided, so I expect Louisville to appear.

So much for the notion that not being in the Olympics would destroy the sport. Being on ESPN is far bigger than the Olympics and the benefits filter down through the smaller D1s, to us at D2 and D3 and NAIA all the way to high school and travel. School administrators can't help but see our game on ESPN and it just gives us credibility and shows them what is going on with facilities and everything else at the top schools. Many administrators still think softball even at the college level is a kind of club-type sport, where you just buy them some balls and helmets and give them whatever field and not worry about the team until next year. These ESPN games go a long way toward forcing these administrators into the 21st century, whether they realize it or not.

Sunday April 6th at Brookside Park in Ashland should get a spot on ESPN...:)

I won't be holding my breath for ESPN to show up for the Hillsdale-Ashland tilt.

Louisville has at least 2 tv games this season from what I was told last weekend. And naturally one is against Notre Dame. Not sure of the other one

Some of the schools in our league do stream, I think. Not sure about Ashland. We're getting there, but need a stronger wireless connection at our field.

Looks like more ESPN and their SEC Bias, and here I only thought it was in football, guess not!!!!!!!!

And the SEC has their own network too, so you cant use that excuse. (someone said B10 had their own network).

SEC Network will be operated by ESPN as part of a 20-year partnership, and is scheduled to launch on August 21, 2014, so no games this spring from them....B1G Network carries many softball games during the spring, although, I can't say a Penn State/IU matchup is nearly as exciting as GA/AL....There are also other CBS & Fox sports stations carrying various games from Tulsa, College of Charleston, Texas, UK etc. from time to time, and even the mid majors like OVC have their own streaming networks, not to mention ESPN3....I can plug my laptop straight into my TV and view the internet stream games....best part about all of these "non-ESPN" options is we the viewers are spared the pithy commentary of Beth Mowins, Michelle Smith and any of the other dunderheads ESPN trots out....THAT, in my humble opinion, is the biggest issue with the national broadcasts of the wonderful sport we all love....I enjoy listening to the student broadcasters on some of the B1G games far more than the ESPN chuckleheads, because they don't spend 2/3 of the broadcast telling me how great they are/were, while calling every missed pitch-high a rise ball or using the inane terms "effectively wild" or "the J-Train"!! :lmao:

Bottom Line, if I want to watch college softball during the spring, I can always find a game....and ESPN is not my first choice.
