Just wanted to share this article about one of the players on our Ohio Wave 16U team. Lyndsey Burke is a great player and it has been our pleasure to watch her grow over the past 4 or 5 years. When you see a player work as hard as she does to excel at the skills that are required to play this game at a high level, it does your heart good to see them recognized for it.
I think this story is unique in many ways, just like Lyndsea. As good a player as she is, her biggest strength is how good a teammate and person she is. Her parents should be very proud, I know that as coaches we certainly are. Wherever she decides to play her college softball, they will be gaining an awesome young lady. Congrats Lyndsea, I would tell you to keep up the hard work but that would be a waste of time. You are a coach?s dream. Hard worker, a great leader and always the first one in line. Enjoy the ride Rocket.
BTW the baseball pitcher who they referred to in the article that was drafted in the 1st round of the MLB draft by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays throws the ball over 100 mph. Lyndsea had 2 hits off him in a game this Spring. She would never tell you that but I don?t mind bragging on her at all.
