I'm just impressed with the fact that kids this age know what the moonwalk and worm is. Maybe one of the players infiltrated their parents VCR tape collection and got a heavy dose of 1984's greatest hit "Breakin"!!]

Isn't it obvious.... they're Goldberg fans!!

To shed some light on the situation, they were a large D-1 inner city school with a reputation of being nasty and rough( in other sports). The taunting started early, with lots of " those Bitches and Ho's can't hit." We were up by 5 in the third and they were still at it. The more we scored, the worse it got. It was a spectacle that was hard to believe. Luckily, we run ruled in 5 innings. For the school to allow this behavior seems ludicrous! Am not trying to stereotype, and I don't blame those girls. This is the result of poor coaches, parents, and schools

I'll say it again...this is our future in this sport and life. The coach should be ashamed. People in that position should want to teach life lessons not encourage bad ones.

Some adults in our sport are horrible as mentors.

My girls must shake the umps hands. If a girl gets hit by a pitch, my pitcher will call time and go shake the batters hand and ask if she's ok.
This job is not just to teach how to win a game, but to win at life.
Sometimes the batter gets mad and won't shake my pitchers hand, but that's on them. My girl can sleep better that night knowing she did the right thing.
Keep it competively classy coaches or go sit in center field and leave our future alone.

Sorry rant is over. I get really upset when coaches fail their players.

To be the devil's advocate on this -
I want my girls loose and to have fun win or lose, that being said this sounds like it was a "be Loose" exercise gotten out of hand.
I'm assuming this team had not done well and the coach was looking for a way to keep them interested.
Sometime in an attempt to make it more fun you lose focus - I can see it happening fairly easy

Let's keep our perspective; these are 12~14 year old kids for whom I'll guess softball is just something to do in school. They may not have necessary been trying to be disrespectful (although it sounds like they were) in their mind they were being loose and having fun. They caused no real harm and they gave your team a perspective of how over celebration looks foolish.

I know what would happen if they were in college and did this crap to the wrong team.

I was at a Big Ten game last week and team hit a homerun and then after she stepped on home plate they did a dance that was obviously rehearsed.
You know what the pitcher did next pitch to the first batter ? Hit the batter.

*** Before someone says anything No I'm not saying to do this to 13 year old girls just saying***

It's ok it's the Big Ten, she couldn't hit her target or batter if she wanted to...JK........;)
