Explosive Fastpitch

Join one of the premier fastpitch organizations in NE Ohio. We will have two tournament teams per age group for the 2015 season. Weekly practices on our 10,000 sq. ft. indoor practice facility large enough for scrimmage games. Indoor practices from November through March. Our coaching staff for 2015 will be announced shortly. We will have a non parent coach for each team. Your daughter will be provided top level coaching and opportunity as we will teach our players the skills necessary to excel in fastpitch. If your daughter has a passion for the game, Explosive can provide the structure to help her reach her maximum potential.

Explosive Coaches for 2014/2015 season


10u Black - Josh Moody '04, '05, 06
Josh has coached competitive tournament teams for over 10 years. He recently coached the 18u Buckeye Heat where 6 of his players will be playing at the collegiate level. This will be his first year coaching with Explosive Fastpitch.

12u Pink - Brian Stojkov '03
Brian has spent the past 6+ years coaching softball in the community of Amherst. He let them to the OGSO titles of 10u state runners-up , state 3rd place, two district championships, one county championship and county runners-up. This will be his 2nd year with Explosive Fastpitch.
12u Pink Assistant - Joe Yocabet
Joe was head softball coach at Baldwin Wallace for over 30 years. He was also a national champion men's fastpitch pitcher. He is currently the pitching coach at BW and has coached tournament ball for many years. This will be his sixth year with the organization.
12u Pink Assistant - Amanda Arendt
Amanda is a 2011 graduate of Amherst HS. Amanda started her collegiate career at Niagara University before transferring to Notre Dame College. This past spring she was the JV softball coach at Amherst. This will be her 1st season with Explosive.

12u Black - Rob Minisall '02
Rob has coached Emerald Necklace softball for 6 years and has developed many young athletes. He is a very dedicated and passionate coach who pushes girl to the next level. This will be Rob's 2nd year as coach of Explosive.
12u Black Assistant - Natalie Humphreys
Natalie has coached Emerald Necklace softball and tournament ball for a few years. This will be her 3rd year with Explosive.


14u Pink - Dave Jesionek '01
Dave has been coaching competitive softball for over 10 years. Dave will be entering his 2nd season as coach at Holy Name HS where both his daughters were standout softball players. This will be Dave's 3rd year with Explosive.
14u Pink Assistant - Olivia Jesionek
Olivia has been playing competitive fastpitch for over 10 years. She was a 4 year letter winner at Holy Name and was team MVP and first team NCL her sophomore, junior and senior years. She earned a softball scholarship to Walsh University and is currently going into her senior year. This will be her 3rd year coaching with Explosive.
14u Pink Assistant - Brianna Jesionek
Brianna has been playing competitive fastpitch for over 8 years. She was a four year starter at Holy Name and will be in her 2nd year playing at Baldwin Wallace. This will also be her second year coaching with Explosive.


14u Black - Jess Shields '00
Jess graduated from Midview HS in 2007 as a two time All-Ohio catcher and setting two state records including most hits and most home runs in a season. She continued her career at Ashland University and most recently was the assistant varsity coach at Midview. This will be her first year at Explosive.

16u Pink - Eric Mizner '99
Eric has been coaching fastpitch for over 12 years. He was head coach of Highland Hornets Emerald Necklace teams for three years and won the championship in 2009. He has also been the assistant coach for Highland HS varsity team. This will be Eric's 6th year coaching with Explosive.

16u Black - Taylor Menhart '98
Taylor is going into her senior year at Ashland University. She has led the team in batting for three straight years and was named all-conference. This will be her 2nd year coaching with Explosive.
16u Black Assistant - Amy Iammarino Amy earned her degree form Muskingham college where she was a standout player. She has been coaching youth softball for over five years. This will be her 1st year with Explosive.

18u Elite - Jeanette Howard '97
Jeanette was the starting pitcher at Baldwin Wallace college for four years. She graduated in 2005 earning her bachelor's degree. Jeanette has been teaching private pitching lessons and clinics for 12 years and has coached over 300 students in NE Ohio. She was head softball coach at Strongsville HS for six years and founded Explosive Fastpitch in 2008.
18u Elite Assistant - Cassie Gleisner
Cassie played 4 years at Akron University and graduated in 2013. She is currently the pitching coach at Walsh Jesuit University. This will be her 2nd year with Explosive.

18u Black - Jeff Boledovic '96
Jeff has coached travel softball for many years. He is extremely knowledgeable about the game. This will be his 2nd year with Explosive.

18u Pink - Stephanie Beko '96
Stephanie has coached softball for over 10 years. She has a love and passion for the game. This will be her 2nd year with Explosive.

All Explosive teams will practice at our indoor facility starting in November and continuing through March. Each team will have a 2 hour practice time on a turfed field almost 10,000 square ft. In addition, beginning in February through the first week of April there will be an additional 2 hour midweek practice that can be used for scrimmage games. Several of the teams also use the facility for team batting practice throughout the winter.

I normally do not knock organizations, but my daughter tried out for Explosive 14u last night and it was not a pretty site. They only had one person evaluating 30+ girls. These girls that did not get a an offer, did not get a fair chance. It was dark and the pitchers were trying to pitch and could not even see. Anyways, just real unorganized.

Explosive 16U Black is looking for talented pitchers to round out the rest of our 16u team. We are playing a competitive schedule and looking for pitchers that want to play at the next level.

Tryouts are August 15th at 7:00pm-8:30pm at New Youth Sports Park located at 21255 Lunn Road, Strongsville Oh 44149
