Well we have new ones but there too small to provide shade yet, along with the new cleveland pears but it will take a few years and they are in the warm up areas.

it's all good, just leave out the rubber glove search . We love your park and those trees will be prime real estate tomorrow, they always are!

Kudos to Expressway Park! The fields were in great shape today and our games were on time! We also had 2 umpires every game, unlike the USSSA tournament at Pastime Park in late May.

Between games is it ok to out to the car for a cold gatorade and a ham sandwich or is there parking lot patrol there to. how much is bottled water at the concession stand.

I don't think you would have any problem in the lot. They do have a very nice concession area and the prices are reasonable just no walking taco's. :-( You can get a huge glass of ice water for fifty or seventy five cents. If you have never been there, the concession area is a big building with garage doors on the sides that open up. They have a lot of picnic tables in there with TV's and some arcade games. Food is good.

Working on the walking taco's. They will be here soon. No we don't patrol the parking lot although you may see me drive thru on the way back to feed my feral cats. If you see these feral cats, they may let you pet them but please never pick them up. They have been spayed and released. Usually they hide. The cats in the Park are tame. They love to be pet.

I was wondering about the stray cats running around the parking lot. I thought they were guard cats, keeping an eye out for people eating their own food in their cars. Whew! haha. I will agree that the prices are not bad at all, the food is better than you'd expect from a concession stand and the games were running on time at all times, except for Field #4, which had a couple games go extra innings.

It really is a nice place to play. If every tourney went as well as the Grand Slam did,they wouldn't know what to do with all the money they would make. Our team had a great time and plan to go back as often as we can!

Agree the fields are top notch. By the end of the day they get pretty firm in the infield, but that is everywhere.
Any thought of making a real fastpitch park with temporary fencing at 200 or 225 ft. This would make the games better and provide a place for teams to warm up prior to their game.

Mike I am glad to hear it went well.
I hope with around the same amount of teams for the smokey baker the games will not be spread out over the entire day and we will have an enjoyable weekend with the kids
