Buckeye Heat 95 fall to the Hurricanes in a very good semifinal, 2-1. Hurricanes and Michigan Elite play in the final. Don't know the results.

Sounds like everyone had exciting games on that side of the bracket. Our girls lost 10-9 in an ITB to the Hurricanes. Very nerve wrecking.....lol.

Our only other loss in the tournament was to Finesse, score again 2-1. In both games, but especially the semi-final against the Hurricanes, we had a ton of runners LOB. Oddly, I didn't feel frustrated by this, as I think we have a decent chance of converting many more of these into runs as an older 14U team next year.
I was surprised to read today that rain was a factor in Columbus tournaments. We dodged the rain all weekend and the temperatures were incredibly cool for the third weekend in July. Good weather made for on time and long games (many of ours, including the semi-final, went the full 7). Great great weekend.

We watched the end of your game with the Classics as we waited to play the winner. It was AMAZING. Wish I would have known you were in the crowd, I'd have introduced myself and the tired golden retriever who was none the less not so tired that she wasn't begging goodies or scarfing them off the ground.

CGS~you mean our game with the Hurricanes??? I was standing along the right field fence-outside side not foul side. That is where Moe was playing and after the incident in Saturdays game was still a little concerned about her playing....but she recovered amazingly well. I did speak with someone-although it was a man-in a Buckeye Heat ball cap who was standing also in right field-foul side fence...
It was a very intense game to say the least!
Trying to remember if I noticed a golden walking someone around the park this weekend...at the moment it isn't coming to me. Don't you know they are like kids never to tired to beg....lol

Yes crazy game! from 1-0 in the 4 or so to 6-6 in the 7th to 10-9 in the ITB inning....very nerve wrecking.....both teams battled until the end.
