Great game by both teams! Fireworks once again lived up to the hype. Heard some comments from rookies that they wondered if like this everyyear, and we all simply replied, yes.

Great Tourney. I wish we had one minute left (out of time) the momentum was on our side. I am very proud of our (unheard of) team who made it to the semi's either tying or beating some top teams...way to go girls on making it to the top four.

Would you be willing to share how you went about doing the Live Scores. I want this for the Jamboree and World Series. Right now we are working on a Live Scores System for OFC.

That can't phase the score right into a scoring page and then phase it into a selection message inside OFC - Tread.

For the Jamboree were using a Mini Laptop and my Android 4g then using the Wi-Fi feature on the phone to connect the Mini Laptop to the internet.

I may even buy a New Laptop as I'm ready for a upgrade any way.

But it would nice to understand how you all set everything up.

Thanks for the great job on posting scores is nice to watch how the teams were doing for use that couldn't be there.

Thanks

As far as what I saw, they had walkie-talkies with the field crews on every field. As soon as a game was over, they would call in the score to the main desk. There was a guy (more like a kid - probably 19/20 from the looks of it) with a laptop and access to internet. He would then update OFC. They then updated the posterboard as well. They also had a wireless printer for the laptop to print off updated brackets on paper for you if you asked, or sometimes just had some sitting there to take.

It was pretty cool.

Sound Nice, Not sure if we can do that for 18 Diamonds or not. We try the walkie-talkie once and we had problem with that not working correct or very hard to understand.

I wonder were they using real walkie-talkie or using a phone app called walkie-talkie that convert your phone into a walkie-talkie.

The firefighters were using their department radios to communicate scores back to our TD at the main diamond, who then posted scores after each update. We turned our check in tent into a wireless environment for the weekend.

Was your TD that young guy with the laptop?

Thanks, we try the walkie-talkie with mix reviews. But then we didn't have
The high dollars model.

Our TD was indeed the young guy at the computer, Joe Horn.

I would have thanked him for all the communication if I'd have known. I didn't guess it when I saw him wearing a college t-shirt. :)

This was a great run tournament by the Orrville Firefighters. My team had a great time and we got to see some teams that we haven't played yet this year and at least 3 out of state teams that we wouldn't normally see.

From the TD to the umps and all the guys doing the field maintenance class act all the way. We must have been asked at least 10 times if we needed anything during this tournament and if we were having a good time. Can't beat that kind of customer service.

I'd like to chime in a BIG THANK YOU to the Orrville Fire Fighters. We played the 2nd last game on Friday night. When we got to the fields for our Saturday AM game my DD says "Dad, did you take my bag out of the car last night?" My heart sank. As it turns out, she left it by the teeter-tooters after the game. One of the firemen found it and put it in the trailer. They had it sitting under the main tent. What a relief.

Great tournament. Best I've ever been at. What a beautiful park and wonderful people working it. Thanks again!!!

The best tournament I've been at as well. This was basically the Gold standard in my opinion.

Relining fields fully in between games
Watering fields sporadically
Dragging or at the least hand raking in between all games
Immediate communication of pool play final seeding into bracket play along with constant updates online.
Great competition
Properly timed games (many of our games were 6 or 7 innings)
Plenty of warmup space, hangout space, and an all around great atmosphere for softball

Everyone there worked extremely hard! Thanks for putting on such a great tournament, I recommend it to anyone looking for a great 4th of July weekend next year
