All teams entered in the in the Fireworks Frenzy tournament www.explosivefastpitch.com will receive an automatic bid to the 2016 PGF Midwest Nationals. The tournament will moved away from the suburbs of Chicago and will now be played at the brand new Louisville Slugger Complex in Peoria, IL. http://www.sluggerpeoria.com. The tournament will be held the week of July 25th, 2016. For those who have played in this event in the past most everyone agrees the tournament is run very well with very good competition but staying in the Chicago area could get a bit pricey and the traffic is a bear. Moving to the Louisville Slugger complex in Peoria should eliminate these concerns.

The Louisville Slugger complex has 10 turf fields including two indoor fields in a dome. Close by there is an additional 8 fields to handle the large number of teams that enter. The tournament format will be three pool games followed by double elimination.
This tournament draws many teams you don't normally see here in Ohio. They draw from the entire PGF Midwest region which includes: ND, SD, NE, KS, MO, IA, MN, WI, IL, IN, KY and OH. There are many quality teams who enter and last year's nationals was very competitive.

More details will be posted as they become available.

For many teams, the Fireworks Frenzy may be the only PGF qualifying event they will play in 2016. We just wanted to give another destination for teams to consider if they are planning on attending nationals. The Fireworks Frenzy has always drawn a large field and typically by the July 4th weekend most teams who plan on going to Nationals have already determined where and when they are going to play and have already made travel arrangements. For the past several years we were an ASA/USA qualifier many of the bids went unused.

Most teams can determine on their own what level nationals they would like to compete in - if they are planning on going at all. The teams we saw last year at PGF Midwest Nationals were very similar to an ASA Eastern nationals. It was very good competition from organizations we never usually see like the Wasco Diamonds, Beverly Bandits and Iowa Premier.
