best if you specify AGE GROUP as there are multiple teams in every age group.
If 14u, I would say it is Power - Colton. They are a 13u team, good 12u season last year.

mr.becker may be able to shed some light

According to the listing on another post, the only age group that has a Power team listed is 14U. There is not a coach's name listed beside it to identify the team.

jbpower would have stated if it was the 14u Becker team, so I would say the 14u Colton team. They usually play in it every year, would have been the 12u Power team last year that I believe won that division, but I could be wrong on that.

Colton's team, and from what I have heard that "becker" team, are the two top Pgh. Power 14u teams this year to look for.

Good luck to both this coming season!

At 14U, I'd have to agree that anyone who overlook's JB's team will probably not like the outcome. Had a nice squad last year, and I'd expect that to continue this year. 8)

Joni, you are correct on the 14U Colton team. ?They are a 13U team returning intact. ?I believe they won their 1st tournament at 14U in the fall.

The 14U Floreak team (another all 13U) had a strong finish to their 2005 season and took 2nd at the Valley Extreme NSA qualifier in the fall with their 1st go at 14U play.

The 14U Kaminski team (mostly 14's) is a new Power team and they should have a good showing in 2006. ?They are a good hitting team and took 2nd place at a fall NSA qualifier in the Pgh area.

As far as which are the top teams...who knows in January...best to let the girls work on improving their game and see how they compete in the summer.

Any reason your team (becker) isn't going to the spano tourney?

There are many reasons that we choose not to play in "Indoor Winter Tournaments" but the main reason is we're trying to avoid having to play your team...now if we only knew which team you're affliated with? ?

We have never entered any of these ?indoor tournaments? ?What do they do for you? ?Why is it that OHSAA doesn't consider it to be fastpitch?

I would venture to guess that there are hundreds of travel teams from Ohio and the bordering states that ARE NOT playing in the Spanodome Tournament. ?Why do you care if we're in it or not? ?

Best of Luck to your team at the Spanodome and this summer. ?If you find the ***** introduce yourself sometime.

Many teams and organization only get a certain amount of funds to spend on tournaments for the season. Some teams do extra fundraising to enter additional tournaments throughout the season.
Once you get into 14u, many of the players are involved in Junior High School Softball and/or freshman on HS Varisity Softball. Many HS coaches frown on double duty in Feb. for their players (even though it is not technically their season yet). Some girls also play other sports which might be in playoffs at that time.

The above plus possible many other reasons could be why many teams do not participate in winter indoor tournaments.

Jeff,

Good luck to you and your ladies, enjoyed our match ups last year, especially the one at 10 pm in the getto in Wheeling WVA. 14U teams watch out, this team does not know the work quit. This is one of the classiest teams around, yes including the parents. See you guys next year.

Hi Pat,

Thanks for the kind words on our team...the girls work hard and the parents all pitch in plus we have a blast...what more could you ask for!

That was a memorable late niter in Wheeling. ?Glad they finally got the lites on or we'd still be looking for that ball that your DD hit.

Best of luck this summer. ?What team are you with this year? ?If you want you can send me an email jsbecker@earthlink.net

Jeff,

Our DD is playing for the Pitt Lady Road Runners White 16U.
I have know Mike, Fred & Russ for a couple of years and the RR were looking for a another pitcher/1st baseman. They are a great group of parents and young ladies. See you guys this summer.

Pat,

The Lady RR are a good hitting team. ?We played them a few times last year and they kept our outfielders on there toes. ?Your DD should fit right into that lineup. ?Tell her I said Hi and we'll see around the fields this summer.
