Fremont Ross to join Toledo City League?

This in today's Toledo Blade---Fremont Ross to join City League.

Said that recently Fremont, Findlay and Lima Senior had all applied for acceptance into the city league to avoid status as independents, and the deciding factor had been travel time.

Fremont Ross is not yet an official member or the City League and still needs to gain approval from both the Fremont bd of ed and the Toledo Public Schools bd of ed.

Also went on to say that "There has been speculation in recent years that TPS may eventually close Libbey High School because of shrinking enrollment at the school combined with the overall funding situation within TPS."

Its an interesting topic, most of this TCL addition talk is really centering around football. The other sports will have to just deal with what they decide. The TCL is notorious for dragging their feet.

I think Whitmer, Clay and the catholic schools should join the NLL, create an awesome league, adopt the TCL tournament style.

Imagine a softball league like this:

Central
SUA
NDA
Springfield
AW
Perrysburg
Southview
Northview
Maumee
BG

Rossford would or is moving

That would give our favorite sport a TON of Pub.

The schools with the biggest fan Bases all in the same league! Yikes, THAT would be fun! They would have to really get creative with their out of conference schedules to be ready for league play

Interesting ideas to kick around (revising league memberships).

I can see Clay moving to the NLL, but honestly, I'd probably keep the Catholic schools and Whitmer in the TCL (and maybe even move Maumee in with them). jmho
