My DD's glove is a JB Custom. Excellent quality, tons of choices, great service. Plus, you're supporting a great Ohio business. You can find them through Google or on Facebook.

Oldest DD plays college softball and had a custom glove made by the guy I'm posting a link to below. He is out of Colorado but will ship to you. His prices are very reasonable and DDs glove has lasted through 4 yrs of college play. He does a lot of custom high school and college gloves. My 13 y/o DD just purchased one from him with her name, number, team logo and team colors.

If she is going to play more than 1 position and like most only wanting 1 glove for everything, I suggest a 12-12.5 inch glove. Great universal size for most any position and forms a very comfortable pocket for 12-inch softballs. All the major companies make good gloves. You simply have to shop for and try them on. I suggest you get only cowhide and stay away from the synthetic leather gloves. Stay away from kangaroo skin gloves simply because the kangaroo skin is lighter and wears much better but it tends to soften. This makes the pocket area hard to keep formed and it breaks over when you don't want it to. Even the gloves with cowhide in the front and kangaroo in the back has issues.

I'm a Rawlings man and they have 4-5 series of gloves based off the old 2000 from years ago. The main difference is the webbing is different but the fingers and palm are still the old standard. You don't need to take out a bank loan for a good glove. Just do your homework as you obviously have started and go to a good sporting goods store with a variety and try them on.

Thank you! At Dicks Sporting Good website it only has Rawlings listed for baseball. Think that matters? In my opinion if the pocket can fit a softball thats what matters but I don't know if they are made for the type of ball or for us breaking it in for the size of the ball. I need to buy her one tomorrow so she can use it preseason. Thanks so much.

Tom, how was your daughter's glove to break in? We bought one a few years ago for our daughter and she never did get it to loosen enough to be happy with it. We finally broke down and bought another one. But she's so-so on the replacement. (And yes, I realize this sounds like my daughter has glove issues.....)

DD has the Nokona Buckaroo kangaroo leather glove and absolutely loves it because it is soft. She has had no issues with it and loves everything about it. We actually just went to the Glove Doctor last weekend to get a new one because it won't last a 3rd whole season. She tried everything he had but went with the same brand & material. I wouldn't count it out if it is comfortable for the player and she will take good care of it.

I used Google translate.....care to explain? Could it be for the purpose of compactness and not messing with all that glove? Perhaps being sure of yourself when you put that glove on the ground and not relying on length? Thanks for the warning :)

Yo no era un creyente en el principio, pero cuanto ms pequeo el guante ms rpida la transicin.

Recomendara no ms grande que un guante de 11.75" para cualquier persona que est jugando la 3ro base.

Also check your private messages.

lol... college daughter loves the glove and if I remember it took her about 2 weeks of practice and working with it to break it in to the point she felt comfortable using it for games. My youngest daughter should get her glove this week so I'll have to let you know what she thinks after our games the last week of March. If you're thinking of using the manufacturer I recommended PM me and I can give you a little more detail.

I just ordered a glove for my DD from Jesus Acuna- I was able to customize the colors and even add my own designed logos! Thanks for posting his info Tom! I can't wait to see it in 4 weeks.

My pleasure mykid... I hope it turns out to be a great purchase for your daughter. Come back on and update us when you get it. Would be great to hear what your thoughts are once your daughter gets a chance to use the glove.... good or bad.
