What is the difference ?/ what am I missing ??

If we were talking about our boys' teams, I don't think anyone would be as touchy about a little crowing, prognosticating, bantering, and "woofing" would we ??

We'd just say ... "Oh yeah, see YOU on the field, ... Bub."

To me this is just a way to stay warm, and stay in the moment and practice of competing, while idled and sidelined in Ohio.

Yes, it is all speculation right now. Sure, it is decided on the field, we'll know in August. My daughter has been on both good and bad teams over the years and I have still enjoyed trying to guage our place in the food chain either way. Same with my older boys. It's just competition, IT'S ALL FUN !!

I s'pose there are those who take it too far, so I can definitely respect the "oh no, here we go again" cringes - ignore those who have an obvious issue or "psychological itch" to scratch (hmm, like ME maybe ??), and chuckle at those who can't get enough of themselves ... your victory on the field will be TWICE as delectable (that means sweet & juicy).

Just my thoughts. Wish I was fastpitch savvy & wordly enough to offer my own ridiculous opinions, but I'm not - maybe that is why I look forward to these opinions though?

Anyways, looking forward to putting the basketball away and getting refocused on America's game! C'mon spring!!

pickledad, That is a great analogy when its boys you can talk any smack you want and its all part of it, but when it comes to girls you can't so anyone is good; or better than anyone else, that is horrible discrimination.I know my daughter is as competitive as any boy around, so lets treat them like athletes instead of little girls, k.

Personally, if I had a boys' team, I can assure you I wouldn't be on baseball boards "talking smack". And I would look at the issue in the same manner as I do here. Namely, the adults that come on here and brag about their daughter's team look ridiculous.

But, we're all different people with different upbringings and different ideas of how to comport ourselves, so feel free to whoop it up, y'all!

I believe the topic is all in good fun. There's no question the answers will come on the field this summer. Besides, no team has been citicized from these posts. Ive only seen positive comments. We lost to the Power in the Championship game at the Thunderplex last weekend and honestly, did not give them much competition They were clearly the best team in the tournament. No question. It's interesting to see how each team compares to the "pre-season favorites".
