Two teams went 3-0 in 16U pool play-- Ohio Elite and Northern Ohio Fastpitch-- two local teams that would have been happy to have played a title game somewhere on Sunday, I'm sure.

That's an excellent question, Will. Madness and Chix 13u blue were the only two teams in the 14u bracket that went undefeated in pool play. Those two teams at least should have been able to battle it out for the win, if nothing else. If men's slow pitch could be played on the Volunteer fields in the morning, there's no reason the 14's couldn't have played in the afternoon. I think the Madness coach and players would agree it would have been the better option, too. I don't know what the 16u pool play went like, but there are plenty of fields at Volunteer we could have used; the fields were already rented for the weekend, after all.
This was the first beautiful weather day we've had all week, and the forecast said it would be. Cancelling the games that early on Saturday night was very premature, in my opinion.

I don't know what condition all the fields at Volunteer were like on Sunday, I wasn't there, I'm just hearing from fairly reliable people that they weren't bad and that they were used Sunday morning by others, so why couldn't some or all of them been used by 14 &16?

The only 2 fields that were playable at Volunteer Sunday Morning...and that the grounds crew worked on all day Saturday had mens softball scheduled on those in the morning and werent available to us anyways...then the fields in the back were we were supposed to play on Sunday still were so bad on Saturday they got their truck stuck in the infield again...go to the other fields and look at the tire tracks thru them !!! I helped push it out myself !!!!!

had the pleasure of getting to know several storm folks (i was with the wizards 10U) and running to the head coach (ryan???) at the hotel lounge. he had an issue with the hotel selling $15 pot pies...freakin' classic. great guy, very well coached team.

Just a quick note from the Compuware 12u team. We would like to thank the Diamond Chix for hosting a quality tournament. There were many strong teams in this tournament. We would have liked to play all of them, especially the DiamondChix, Hawks, MC Madness and Silver Creek.

I found myself watching several other games while we were trying to warmup. The games on Sunday, in particular, were very compelling and entertaining. Good luck to all.

Compuware will again be hosted its own tournament June 15-18, 2012 in Canton, Michigan. This will be the 30th year we will be hosting the Compuware Classic. We host teams throughout the Midwest We have also had teams from the California attend as well. ASA umpires come from all over the country to participate.

Also, we are setting up a spring tournament for the third week of April. It will be a 12u only tournament and will be held in Southwest Oakland County. We are looking for the best 16 12u teams we can find to come and play. It will be a single day tournament. Each team will be guaranteed 3 games, most teams will play a 4th game and 2 teams will play 5 games. Cost will be $325.00.

I enjoyed it...Enjoyed meeting the Storm coach and finally met the infamous MadHornet briefly. Both are doing great jobs with their teams. I was also impressed with the coaches of the Outlaws team, IMO the young Outlaws are in good hands!

Congratulations to the Ohio Storm. IMHO the best pitcher/catcher combination we have seen this fall.

The Storm team is well coached, they play hard, and have a solid defense. Our championship game is a great example of fierce competition, talented players, and coaches who respect the game, the players and each other. We look forward to the many more great games to come over the spring and summer.

I want to say thank you to the Diamond Chix program for putting on the tournament. The area took a ton of rain the week before and on behalf of our team thank you for getting the fields playable.

It was great getting to meet so many new people from different organizations through out area. 10U teams and parents seem to take a lot of heat on OFC for sportsmanship but looking at the 6 teams that attended the tournament I personally saw some great sportsmanship and some very good coaching! I?m sure every age group has some bad apples when it comes to sportsmanship, but in two fall tournaments our team attended I have seen any yet.

The Stingrays are an excellent team and the championship game could have went either way. I said during the game it was two great teams battling it out and it truly was. Those girls can hit!! By far the best hitting team we have faced this far. In a 7 inning game and only 3 strikeouts this early in the 2012 season says a lot.

Once again thank you to the Diamond Chix and all the 10U teams for making it a fun enjoyable weekend of softball!
