Kelli Metzger (Maddogs, Louisville HS, University of Akron) played for the Racers and Carla Brookbank was mentioned earlier.

Metzgar went to Louisville high school. Akron. When she graduated from college, she finished in the top ten hr's in college career of all time. and this was before they had all the composite bats come out.

tried out for olympic team and was to the final cut. played pro ball and was on a championship team. she still can hit the ball harder and farther than any women i have ever seen except Bustos when she was in her prime.

had to quit because of knee problems.

She played for Ohio St., but I first saw her name in the paper all the time when she was in high school. She played for Crestwood (Portage Co.) in the same league as our school and I remember seeing her stats and telling my husband that they couldn't possibly be real. They were! One article mentioned a vision problem that she had to overcome by how she turned her head to see the pitches when batting. Our coach said she would get on base almost every at bat with a hit or walk, steal bases at will and score almost every time. Pretty sure travel ball was with the Maddogs.

her name is all over the ohio high school record book. led crestwood to the state championship. she could lay a bunt down and get on. she could slap and get on and she also had the power to hit it over the fence.

if she got on base, (just about 80% on base percent) she would score. steal 2nd, steal 3rd. score on anything except a popup or line drive.

fun to watch if you were rooting for her, hated her if you were her opponent.

I was just going to mention Tracee as I was thinking about great players that went on to be with the Racers. Tracee had 4 years of All-MAC honors.

If there truly would be a lot of interest in a Hall of Fame (perhaps OFC sponsored??) of some sorts, I would be willing to work with some people to propose how it might be set up, eligibility and selection, data collection, etc. ...
