I have a question.....

DD's high school coach told the players today that as long as she holds session with only 4 players at a time she can coach them unlimited from now til the season starts. I've never heard of a 4 player limit for high school coaches during off season. Any insight on this.... is this a new rule, am i missing something or is she just wrong?

It is a new rule that went into effect this year for not only softball but other sports as well.

If you are saying 4 with this coach, 4 with that coach etc then no. 4 kids at a time period. Now 4 can come practice leave and then 4 new players can come in

the number of coaches don't matter.. 10 coaches but still only 4 players, practicing together at one time,
but don't get confused with open gym or field where the whole team may be together, but coach can't organize or instruct.

All the prior rules are still in place regarding when coaches are allowed to instruct etc. However they are allowed to instruct up to 4 girls and only 4 in all combine facilities. I have already heard some people think they can have 4 coaches coaching 4 girls in each corner of a gym then have them rotate which will be a violation of the rule.

Ive been also hearing stories of teams holding open fields and while they are going on coaches pulling 4 at a time aside for instruction.
