Do any of you HS coaches do anything special or ongoing throughout the season to try and make your Seniors season memorable??? I have never given much thought to it other than having a Senior night during one of our games. I have a Senior class that I have been working with since they were 5 years old. WOW, 13 years!!! I'm sure it will be memorable, but would like to add something special. Any ideas!!!

Liberty Union had a nice seniors day last year. Gave the girls several small gifts and then each girls had written a little something about their experiences playing at Liberty Union.

We have a senior night ... we introduce the players and their parents, and the underclassmen present them gifts. Then we have all the underclass players (including JV and frosh), the seniors parents, and the coaching staff form a line around the inside of the base paths and each girls goes around the bases "one last time" giving high 5's along the way. We also start each of the seniors (if even only for an inning or two). We have 9 seniors this year as well so it should be a special night.

At our school the head coach( or maybe the boosters) will purchase a dozen roses and at the last home game along about the 5th inning he would call time to replace the senior with a underclassmen, the younger player would run onto the field with the roses, give them to the exiting senior and she would receive a round of applause from the parents and other players.

this was done one at a time over the course of a inning and a half so each girl would have her moment in the spotlight.

Its at that moment that it hits them that their HS career is over and it is a emotional time, but she is surrounded by all of her teammates and its always a positive experience

Thanks for the responses, and keep them coming....

But I'm wondering if anyone has ideas for something ongoing throughout the season?? Little things that you do at practice or before home games, or away games, to make the Seniors last season memorable.

toward the end of our season, all of the varsity underclassmen get together and make softball scrapbooks for each of the seniors with pictures /momentos of their softball career. they give them to the seniors at the spring sports banquet.

well seniors are the leaders (usually) so they're captains. definitely senior night. maybe something like "spirit gifts" where the younger girls give the seniors little gifts each week. team breakfasts/dinners where each one a different senior picks the meal.

LADY_KNIGHTS looks like you can use all these this year or every year.
like Every week after a practice have one of the seniors pick the dinner or host a dinner for the team.
At first game of the year make it Senior night,
At each home game or Games, have a underclass men or just one give all senior's a gift (this can be anything candy to what ever).

I really liked this one BY jojo5 The roses at Very Last Home game of the Year

And at end of the year Banquet have the Scrapbooks done but make sure that this is started at beginning of the year by designated underclassmen to per Senior. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :D :D

Our school has a booster club for softball. We purchase a plaque in the shape of a ball for each senior. The ball has the player's name and number on it. These are placed on the backstop for the season and presented to the seniors at the end of the season.
