2021 SOFTBALL TEAM TRYOUTS!!
Cuyahoga Falls based Competitive/Travel Team
The Hit & Run Heat out of Cuyahoga Falls, OH is looking for hard working, dedicated, and mentally tough student athletes that play hard. We have been around for over 10 years led by Dave Pence. Dave’s philosophy is to focus on the fundamentals while building character in our young athletes. Dave has extensive coaching experience with young athletes, including both private and team practices and as a coach at the high school level.
Hit & Run has a great group of athletes and families returning to our program, many you have played for us for many years and have formed relationships both on and off the field. We will consider all positions for our 14U, 16U and 18U competitive, travel 2021 teams. Our teams are planning to play a 5-7 tournament schedule in 2021. Specific tournaments are yet to be set for 2021 but the goal is for all to be within 2 hours of Cuyahoga Falls with the exception of 1 further location requiring a hotel stay to provide the team with that experience. Additionally, friendlies as well as some league play are possible for each team. This team is a year round, competitive/travel team that includes off season, indoor training beginning in October. This winter training consists of 1, possibly 2, practices a week in an indoor facility to focus on hitting and defensive skills. Additionally, there is a weekly practice session for pitchers and catchers. As the weather breaks in the spring, outside practices are set leading up to the start of our spring/summer schedule following the completion of high school seasons.
Tryouts for all teams are scheduled for Wednesday, August 4th at Harrington Field in Cuyahoga Falls (2610 Oakwood Drive, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221). A second tryout will be held Wednesday, August 11th. Tryouts will be held from 6:30 – 8:00 pm, please plan to arrive 30 minutes prior in order to complete registration paperwork and complete your warm up.
*Pitchers and Catchers will need to stay an additional 30 minutes to be evaluated separately.
