Hitting area

Similar set up to Howards hitting area. I believe the black stripe is 39 and 51 inches off the floor. I have 2 moving blankets in front of a net that is hanging
The black stripe is to check ball flight off the tee. Not to low, not to high

I put a curved end at floor to catch the balls for easy pickup.

Posted this for anyone needing ideas.

What a great set up! I have read a lot of Howards posts here but have not seen his set up.

Yours, I would love to put in my garage/basement. Do you have the dimensions of the right and left black lines and how far away the tee is?

Gerry proves that a bit of dumpster diving plus a touch of theft equals sweet hitting area in the garage!

Seriously, nice job! I'd be afraid that my dd would snap-hook one into the hull!

As for the watercraft:

My grandfather left me his 16ft 1972 aluminum jon boat with 6hp Evinrude motor in his will. I'm not much for boats, and neither were my parents, so it sat idle from 1976 to 2009. My son showed an interest in it so we put a new spark plug and water pump in the motor and fired it up. It started on the 3rd pull...I couldn't believe it. We replaced all the rope and anything made of rubber and the tires on the trailer and it was good to go.

We put it in the water and I had my GPS with me. The top speed, on a quiet lake mind you, was 3.2mph. I was laughing my a$$ off! You could hang off the back and "motorboat" the water and move almost as fast. Grandpa was one to never be in a hurry........

Anyway, my son put a light kit on it, built a deck in the front so he can bow fish, and he and his best friend are constantly on the water. It's his problem now....:lmao:

Good story Len!!!
Brings back memories of all my first boats, A camo one I bow fished out of, and others. I had a whopping 15 hp on the camo one.

A picture of it behind the tarp. Bought it new in 1989, still use it.
Will use it more this summer since daughter is not playing summer ball before her first year of college

She might try to walk on EKU
We will see.

The black lines for opposte field hits are parrallel off the plate. first and third base lines. I then came in some and plumb bob'd up and painted some lines. So the hits are in fair territory.

Carpenter by trade. Obsessed with layout!!

I have been in that garage a few times with the dd's. I learn something new every time.
