I give hitting lessons in my garage. Cincinnati area, A couple of nights during the week, One day on the weekend. The people that come to me do not come every week. Maybe 1-2 times a month. In the beginning they might come 1 time a week for 2-3 weeks and then, they go work on the things I show them with the parents, or alone.

Days vary depending on what my children are doing.


$20.00 a lesson, and a 6 pack of gatorade, or power aid.
4:30 is my favorite time. Will start later if need be.

That helps me pay for the heat, electric and balls I use. I go at least 1 hour and if it runs an hour and half, same price.


I teach RVP and Howard Carrier methods. A few of my own.

I do follow your threads here. Just today I was showing my daughter some of the older ones with the Gif's in them.

Something I would like to add is most of all the girls over the last 5 -6 years that ever came to me for hitting, I asked them to attend at least 1 Bustos/Howard clinic.

Many have gone to 2 or 3. Some of my older girls, I asked them to take a lesson or so with crystl. Some of them have.

It started for me 6 years ago at a clinic. Middletown clinic.

Crystl ate lunch with my dd and I. Great experience for us.
Got some photos with gold medals around my dd's neck with Crystl and Natasha Watley. Very cool

I dont work the clinic's, not a fan of big crowds.

My learning experience with Howard and Crystl sounds very much like yours SL, mine started 4-5 years ago at a clinic that the Westerville Ice sponsored for a couple of years in the Columbus area. I went to two there and the last was a couple of years ago in Zanesville that R Sherman sponsored. Both Crystl and Howard are so accessible to talk to, they do not consider any question unworthy of a reply and spend way beyond what any other speakers at clinics would consider a normal amount of time with the attendees. When Hitter was really posting here I copied all his threads into word files that I still go back and reread the material. So much information. Thanks Hitter for sharing the knowledge. If Hitter reads this post I wanted to ask him if he remembered a 8 - 9 year old girl named Jessica that attended the Westerville clinic 4-5 years ago? She picked up on the drills really quickly that day and Howard and Crystl both got such a kick out of her they doted a bit on her. She is in the school district where I coach and she is now a 7th grader and hits the snot out of the ball. She still has great memories of that day.

Howard, I think that was a young, very young lady named Lindsey/Lindsay. I would love to know how she is doing now. (Not for poaching, lol). That was just a really special day for me, to see how she bought into the system and how she interacted with Crystl.

I recall the Barry Bonds drill with a young girl around that time. Tim and Britt were in the cage that day, since we didn't have enough stations with nets. I worked with some of the Marion Diamond players and lhowers dd.

I have had a good response, 5-6 new people have came for 1 lesson, 5 want to come back for a second and third, 1 is out of town.
I have enjoyed all the new students & parents.
